Leading Up to Christmas

This was a little gift I got from the Children's ministry team for volunteering in the nursery. About every other month, I volunteer and watch the bed babies during the church service.
How cute. Very Pinterest.
Speaking of drinks, I tried a few recipes over the break. This one sounded yummy, but I found out I'm not a fan of ground ginger. When it was all said and done, the only thing the drink was good for was for taking a picture of it.
I tried. It was yucky.
I got that cookbook and a few more from the library.
To my right...a fake fire keeping me toasty and coffee keeping me caffeinatedWe've been going there often. The girls enjoy checking out DVDs. Chey also enjoys getting easy to read books. Library

Leading up to Christmas, we also spent a lot of time at home, just being playful.

Cheyenne wanted to wrap her sister up in TP. I told her she could, but after she was done she would have to bag the TP and use it. I'm such a mom!

A Little Trip that Gets Us Excited

We get excited about trips to the library! It's been a month or so, since our last one. Cheyenne was thrilled when I told her I'd get her a library card. When she gets older, I hope she is this excited to read on her own. My niece has the summer off, so she was also excited to get her hands on some books. I'm sure hours of TV and Internet gets old after awhile.

It's not a successful trip to the public library if I don't score a cookbook and a running book.
While I was browsing, I stumbled across Exploring Ft. Worth with Children.
Library Day
Without me even saying anything Cheyenne picked out several books for Dakota. She is so thoughtful.

Rookie mistake, we forgot to take a book bag.
Interesting fact: I can check out 75 books at one time from my library! If I plan on doing that I will need a bigger stroller.

Week in Photos

We no longer cut our yard, we hire a local business to maintain it. They don't bag the grass clippings for our yard, so when I requested a bag for my compost bin (from the company), I was told one would be left on my yard (from the company from another clients house). Keep in mind the request was for one bag... this is what was left on my side yard. 10 bags of grass! I think my compost is going to have plenty of grass.

Shout out to Trey for putting air in my tires. I'm 28 years old and I've never put air in my own tires, perhaps it's time I learn.

Bay-Kota

Do you have a nickname? When Dakota was first born, Cheyenne called her little sister, Baby Dakota and I guess, that name was too long, because now she calls her Bay-Kota. Cute. Right? We'll see if the nickname sticks.

Four Weeks
We've been a party of four for four weeks, now. I still have a hard time believing I'm a mother of two. That means I'm responsible for two bodies! I'm glad Trey is here to help.

Here are some things Dakota has been up to:
- Her hair is getting darker and her eyes are getting lighter.
- She responds to my voice.
- Her infant cry is getting louder each day.
- She is still waking up, in the middle of the night for at least one feeding. It's usually between 2 and 4:30 am. We haven't had a rough night yet. Thank you, Jesus! She's had one full night of sleep. 9 pm - 5:30 am. Nothing spectacular, BUT that would be a decent schedule, when I return back to work.
- Last weekend, her umbilical cord finally fell off. A customer or employee might be able to find it inside the South Side Wal-Mart. That's where she lost it.

We Are Proud Library Nerds
For 3 weeks, we've been participating in the summer reading program and craft time at our local branch. It's a cool indoor activity that keeps Chey and I sane. She gets her kid time and I get a chance to visit with my grown-up friends. Oh, and I also get a chance to check out books and FREE DVD's. This should relieve my summer REDBOX obsession, or at least give it a break.

If you are in my area and want to join us at the library, let me know!

My Week in Photos

A few years ago, my mom made me a nursing shaw. I was really looking forward to using it again, but apparently I misplaced it. Well, my mom was nice enough to make me another one. I like to call the shaw my bib or my hooter hider.

Thanks, mom it's perfect!
Nursing Shaw
Dakota is doing great. Last night, she had her longest stretch between feedings. She slept for 7 hours before she was ready to eat agin.

When I told her we had plans to go to the library, she was all excited. She checked out several books and a movie.
Public Library
Speaking of movies. Lately, all my spare change has been going to RedBox. Last night, we ate frozen pizza and once the girls were in bed, Trey and I watched This Means War. It's been a while since a movie has made me laugh that much.

Oh, and this is the new frozen pizza I tried (see picture below). My favorite frozen pizza is Kashi. My grocery store use to sell it for $5.49, but they stopped carrying it. BOOO! Now, the only place I can buy it is from a health food store for $7.49. This pizza, was alright.

The BookWorm Always Finds the Good Books

This afternoon, Cheyenne and I ventured to our local library. We naturally gravitated to our own interests. Her -- Dora and me -- running. We had only been there maybe 5 minutes and she found a Dora book. I walked out with a running book called Born to Run. I'm only a few chapters in, but so far it has me fired up about running...Hmm, like I need any more fuel for that fire.
Bookworm
Well, I have the week off and I really don't know what to do with all this free time. Typically, at the end/beginning of each year I take the time to deep clean and organize the house. Today, I started with the pantry. Tomorrow, I think I'm going to tackle the living areas...entry way, hallway, living room. Or maybe I should just focus on the kitchen. I'll figure it out.

What I've Been Reading

I've been busy reading pregnancy books from the library. Here are just a handful of books I've managed to read in the last few weeks.

Out of all the books, this is by far my favorite.

This book was a dull read, but I can't deny it was full of helpful information.

I laughed so much reading Belly Laughs. Trey even read a few pages.

This is what I'm currently reading. Not all of the advice is very practical for me, but I can take bits and pieces of the information and apply it to my life.
