Earlier this week, I met the girls while I was on my lunch break. We had a picnic at the park.
It would've been miserable, but we went to a park that had a lot of shade. I was able to meet them again, today for another lunch date. I love summer!
Last week, Dakota and I went to Hurricane Harbor. We plan on going again soon (as soon as I can pry myself away from editing) and this time Cheyenne will join us!
Trey got a new service truck for his business. I won't be driving that around town, but it's great for him. It's hard to believe, but Twin Temp is now a 4 man crew. I'm happy they are doing so well.
Here are some photos of Trey's truck. He's in the process of restoring it. This is what it currently looks like. My grandfather had a truck like this. It reminds me of him. I can't wait until it's fully restored and I can drive it…if Trey lets me. :)
This is what it looked like when he first got it….
And today, this is what it looks like. Still an on-going project...
Now, that I'm working more often, on the weekends, we decided it was time for a second vehicle.
This past weekend, while I was filming Trey and the girls were all over the place, riding around. Too bad we can't all ride together, but I know Trey will enjoy having a truck, again. Trey and I plan on driving it around town, on our next date night.
BTW, I'm still sick. It's been over a week. I think I'm finally starting to get better. I miss running, I miss smelling food and I miss being able to taste food!
Friday night, Trey took Cheyenne on a church hosted daddy daughter date night. Cheyenne kept calling it a royal castle date. I think they had a small castle at the church or something.
The Children's Minster sent out a few tips to the Dad's...
Ideas to make your Daddy daughter date even more special:
1.Treat this as you would a “real” date, help your daughter have high expectations for how men are supposed to treat women.
2.Ask your daughter to the Date Night
3.Tell her that you are looking forward to your date.
4.Get ready separately and go outside and ring the doorbell when it’s time to go.
5.Buy a flower or a corsage for your daughter and present it to her when you “pick her up”
6.Have a friend or relative act as a chauffeur, driving you to and from your date.
7.Take pictures as you get ready to go.
8.Open the doors for her.
9.Make her a card that says thank you for going on a date to present to her.
How cute is this picture????
Serena sent me this image. This is the perfect illustration of what it means for a manly-man like Trey, to have a girly-girl daughter like Cheyenne.
We are all enjoying the truck, but to be honest with you, I'm terrified to drive it. Why? Oh, because it's a massive beast. I drove it once, but it was just around the neighborhood. Give me some time and I'm sure I'll feel comfortable driving it.
We have no idea what this compartment is for...We thought sunglasses? No. Paper? Maybe. It seems like a specific compartment for something particular. Do you have any guesses?
Family Date Night
We had a family date night, thanks to our neighbors. They came over a few days ago and gave us a gift card. NICE! I had an adult treat, a skinny patron margarita. It was my first time to try it. It was delicious, but the portion size was definitely skinny. I had to take sips because I feared if I drank it like I'd drink any normal size beverage, it would be gone in 3 seconds.
--------------------------------------------------------------- Where I Like to Spend Time
We've had our patio chairs for several years and the heat has ripped the vinyl weave to shreds. This picture was taken last summer, when they were barely started to come undone.
I couldn't find any decent chairs in our price range, so Trey suggested I use the patio chairs we already have...they actually go with a set we have on the back porch. Great idea and they actually look like they belong.
Now, I can enjoy my morning coffee, while relaxing in a chair that won't break my neck. One thing I love about this house, is that in the mornings, the front patio is shaded and in the evenings the back is shaded. Bring on the summer! P.S.SSSSSSSSS
A picture of my girls. Sisters!
For several months, Trey and I have been saving money for a new pick-up truck. Every side job that we've done, we've been putting it in savings. You don't know how many times I wanted to take the money and go on a nice vacation, but we stuck with our plan to hoard it until Trey found a truck.
This is our new (to us) '07 F-150 Fx4, that we paid for in cash money...no car payment. Good -- since we already have one of those.
Now that we bought a truck, we can get back on track with our 2012 financial goals.
Trey was working on a family truck. It was a '86 F-150.
He put a brand new engine in it and did a lot of body work to it. Since he bought a new truck, he sold the '86 F-150 to his Dad. Trey still has a few more things to finish up on it before he sends it off to Abilene.
This was this morning, as we were rushing to church. I don't know what it is about Sunday's, but I can wake up hours before Sunday School, but I always seem to make us a few minutes late. I can go six days out of the week with natural hair, but when I'm running late, it's like I HAVE TO straighten it. Hmmm, that makes no sense, I know, but I'm weird like that.
We took the truck this morning. It was a nice little ride.
Did you go to a Super Bowl Party? We spent the first half of the game watching it with the youth group from our church. There were a lot of high school boys and they had a comment on just about every play and every commercial. It was entertaining and definitely better than watching it alone, at home. My favorite commercial was the Chevy Silverado Apocalypse. Hilarious! There were way too many beer commercials. Cough! <Budweiser> Cough!
I'll leave you all with this beautiful song, sung by Cheyenne. There is no moving video, it's a still picture of Cheyenne and an audio track. Towards the middle of the track, she starts making up her own version of the song -- We are Care Bears....
Before Trey and Cheyenne went to Cowboys Stadium to see Kansas vs. Arkansas, they stopped by my workplace. Trey wanted me to fix Cheyenne's hair and Chey wanted to show me her new booster seat. It was a nice pick me up seeing them during my work break.
Before they left, Chey said, "Momma, you stay here!" She thought I was going with them and she wasn't having it. It was HER Daddy time and she didn't want a third wheel. Well, then!
Heading to Cotton Bowl 2011.
Heading to Cotton Bowl 2012. Make room for one more, we've got a baby on the way. Looks like he'll be taking two kiddos to the game, next year.

Uncle Bubba met Trey and Cheyenne at the game. This is his friend...sorry, I don't know her name.
They went early to the game to catch the Pep Rally.
This is the video of them last year at the LSU Pep Rally.
They had sooo much fun and Trey said Chey did great. By the time they made it home it was one o'clock in the morning. Trey said Chey fell asleep on the way home. Since she was in the truck, riding in the middle seat, she was snuggled up next to him <--------- that is the sweetest thing!!!!!!! Now, that's a great finish to a daddy daughter date. <3
I'm so glad Chey got a chance to spend time with her Daddy.
How is your weekend? I wanted to show you some recent pictures of the truck, but first let's look back and see what condition the truck was in when Trey first got it.
And this is what it looks like today.
I'll leave you with this picture of Cheyenne. Okay, have a goodnight. I should be sleeping right now, but I'm awake. Note, it's 9:18 pm, but I woke up at 3:30 am. Night-night.
Sometimes I forget, not everyone who reads the blog talks to us every week. I'll post snippets on Twitter or Trey will post snippets on FaceBook, but I've realized, I've failed to update our blog readers about some exciting things happening.
The main thing is the F-150 truck. Trey has been working on this truck for months. I want to say, since February. If you've been following his progress, you know he did a complete engine overhaul.
Well, the new engine has been installed and Trey is driving the truck. It's new home is our driveway. Trey has more work to do, mainly body and interior -- but he is so happy to be driving it.
I'm extremely impressed with Trey's mechanic skills. It took hours of dedication and he even missed a few football games. That sould give you an idea about how important this truck is to him.
Trey, congratulations on the progress!
Earlier this week, you may have seen photos of the truck, but those pictures were taken on Trey's phone. He wanted to take hi-quality pics with my camera. So, here they are....taken by Mr. Photographer, Trey.
Really, Trey should be blogging because I can't give you the play by play. Well, I could try but then you would all laugh at me. (Voices in my head)
What does everyone have planned this weekend? I've got two back to back long runs lined up for Saturday and Sunday. Ultra marathon Training, watch out.
