A Video I Made about Pregnancy

Back in 2005 I made a short film about pregnancy. I hadn't watched this film in months and yesterday got a good laugh. I hope you enjoy the video.

A Friend From Far Away Isn’t So Far and Work On Memorial Weekend

Film School Friend:
Unlike Trey, my highlight this past weekend was not watching the Dallas Cowboy’s Stadium take shape. Instead, I had a great time hanging out with my old friend, Cortnee.

Cortnee is a friend I went to film school with and she produced one of the short movies I directed. It was wonderful catching-up over some good food.

Work:
I had my first three-day weekend with UTA and I was surprised when I heard Trey had the weekend off too. Even though he had the weekend off he was on call, which means stand-by. So we didn’t make any plans for Monday. Sure enough that morning he receives word his services are needed out of town.

Sometime, between waking-up and brushing my teeth, he convinced me to go with him. He lured me by saying, “You can browse the downtown shops, while I fix the (whatever it was that wasn't working).” I went and 8 out of 10 shops were closed for the holiday. Even with all of that, I don’t regret forfeiting the holiday to go with him out of town. I think I had more fun acting retarded with him, even more so than if I had stayed home.

Friends From LA

I received an e-mail from one of my old roommates and I really miss all of them. It'll be a year in December since I last saw them.
My roommates: Mary, Danielle, Jennifer, and Me. Sarah Bohl took the picture.
Last year when we had some rare-free time, we all went to the Santa Monica Pier.

Production = Stress

I'm having flashbacks of the stressful life in LA. When I was in production for a movie I always had trouble sleeping. I'm currently in production and soon I'll start editing. This week will be trying for me. I have to shoot cover footage Tuesday and Wednesday, Wed. I start teaching, Friday I have a wedding rehearsal, and Saturday a wedding to shoot. I will not sleep, I will not eat. I hate it when my schedule is overwhelming, because I always try to do my best and when I have too much on my plate it's inevitable to cut corners. Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers.

Earthquakes, Geology, and Howling Dogs

I'm sitting here studying for my Geology exam and I was wondering what does an earthquake feel like if you're driving? When I was living in LA, I swear I experienced an earthquake, but all my roomates said I was crazy. Maybe I was dreaming, but I promise my bed was moving in the middle of the night and I heard dogs barking, which is unusual for LA since hardly anyone has dogs in that particular area.

The Coffee Bean and far away friends

So, the other day I checked my mail, like any other day and to my suprise I recieved a napkin letter from my roomate in L.A. Apparently the day I left, that night Sarah and Danielle (my old roomates) went to The Coffee Bean Tea and Leaf. This is my absolute favorite place in the entire world. If you want good coffee try it there. That night they went to the CB and wrote me a letter. It was so wonderful. Sarah even got my favorite drink...the caramel ice blended.

My Tearful Goodbye

I would like to say that Narnia is an amazing movie. Last night I went to a studio screening here in Los Angeles and afterwards they had a panel discussion with some of the people involved in making the movie. It's a really good movie worth watching. Afterwards, I came back to the apartment and met up with my other roomates. We're all dreading saying goodbye to each other. This morning Mary woke me up at 4 am. She woke me up to say goodbye. I was half awake and half asleeep, but I managed to pull it together to give her a hug. It's tough you know, hoping you'll see people again, but not knowing if you ever will. I didn't realize how dificult saying goddbye could be. So here we are now. I'm just waiting for my flight. I fly out of LAX and I'll be home before I know it. Well, God's been good to me. I've made lasting friendships and I have wonderful memories.

Goodbye Angeles

The screening went well. The movie was a comedy and people were laughing so that's refreshing. I'm so sad to be leaving. I've grown fond of the friendships I've made here. Everything will be fine. Last night was a blast. My roomates and I went to The Alcove for cake and drinks. We got back to the apartment and watched the entire 2nd disc of student films. It took forever to watch, but it was amazing to see all the talent I've been surrounded by this semester. So, today I'm cleaning the living room, going to see Narnia, complete my packing, and that will be it for me. I fly out around noonish. It's crazy to think I'll be seeing my husband tomorrow. I can't wait. If your reading sweetie, I just want to say thank you so much for being so supportive this entire time. I love you and I'll see you sooner than later.

The Packing Begins

So, I started packing today. Apparently, I have to fit everything I brought out here to L.A. in 2 suitcases. Not to mention the junk I bought since I've been here, like an ice cream suit. I'm hanging out at school right now. I'm getting ready for the last screening. We're watching everyones short films and that's it. It's the last event of the semester. Last night we all went to the LAFSC banquet in west hollywood. You know I've been telling my roomates I'm not going to cry because I'm so ready to get out of junior high, but last night as we were all praying in a group I swore I felt a wet drop in the corner of my eye. All I know is I have 2 nights in L.A. and I'm going to make the most of it.

Inhale LA

Well, today was the last day of internship. How exciting…I know. I’ll miss it. The last couple of days my body has been trying to catch up with my brain. Wednesday I pulled an all nighter, editing my movie. It’s close to completion, but my crew and I are still making minor adjustments. In editing time I guess minor adjustments equal many many hours. So, maybe we’re not close to being done. Wednesday we screen our films in class. I can’t wait.

So, since I’m leaving in a few days, I want to inhale as much of Los Angeles as I can. Everyone tells me you have to experience In and out Burger. I went last night and it was good, but if you go there don’t have the milk shake, it’s horrible. Yuck, yuck. I’ve done a lot of the LA stuff, but I guess there are a few more things I should do like buy a shirt or something. Okay maybe not, but next week a group of us are going to the price is right.

Movie Madness

Hello. Today has been about getting back into the regular routine. I only have two more days left of internship. I'm in post production right now so i'll be up late with my editor working on or last movie. When I'm done with film school I'm not going to know what to do with all my free time. Especially since I'm so used to making short movies. In a matter of 3 months I've directed 4 short movies. Oh, my god, that's insane! I should be dead!

Movie #1
This was about a man who was obsessed with ice cream.

Movie #2
This was a hardcore drama about an adultress who wrote all her intimate feelings in her Journal.

Movie #3
This was about a woman who's going into labor and takes out all her agression on her poor husband when the elevators aren't working and she has to walk down 12 flights of stairs.

Movie #4
A monster whose true passion is playing golf.

I can't believe it's almost over....how sad.

Sometime today

So, yeah it's been a while since I've dropped some lines. Trey and I bought a new vehicle, a 2004 Honda Element. We love it! Today I meet with a committee from ACU about L.A. I hope everything works out. I'm excited, anxious, and nervous.

Quote of the day:
