Chey has been sick since Friday. I'm so ready for her to get well. Today, I stayed at home with her AGAIN. The last time I was at work was Thursday. Talk about a looonnnnnggggg memorial weekend.
At the moment, she seems to be fine, just a little cough --- but that's how it's been all weekend. She'll go from sick to fine and then sick again. I called the nurse and she told me what to do, just the same old home remedies: elevated bed, liquids...etc...the usual.
This was a picture, taken this weekend. This is when she was out of it. Poor thing.

I Almost Forgot About Abilene Wind
Distance: 13.6 Miles
-10 miles running solo & 3.6 intervals with Linda
Duration: 1:37: 40 (10 miles)
Average Pace Per Mile: 9:45 (10 miles)
Early Sunday morning, I did my pre-run morning routine, which includes checking the weather forecast. 25 MPH WIND GUSTS! Give a runner a break! I forgot how windy it can get in Abilene. I seriously considered not running, but I sucked it up and told myself I would give it a try and if the wind was unbearable I would turn around. I left Trey's parents house and didn't look back. Once I got going, it wasn't that bad. Although, for the first 5 miles I was running head to head with the wind. I kept thinking, as soon as I hit 5 miles, I'm turning around and this wind is going to carry me in and it did.
I ran a commercial route. There were blocks and blocks of gas stations and fast food places. I may start running this route, more often when I'm in town. The reason why I liked it so much is because I stopped at a fast food joint and got ice water and then again at a McDonald's to use the bathroom. It was convenient. I didn't have to worry about any sudden BM. What? Endurance runners you know what I'm talking about.
After running 10 miles, I planted myself on the cool pavement and waited for Linda to arrive.
We jogged/walked a good 3.6 miles.
Later, Trey and I met up with family at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Check out Angelica's pink highlights. She's super cool.
After lunch and watched the Hangover 2 (AMAZINGLY FUNNY -- I was crying). That evening, we had a big get-together at Trey's parents house. Linda and Steve joined us too. They will be spending the summer in Abilene. That's so much closer than Oklahoma!

Where Do I Start?
Friday, I stayed home with Cheyenne. She caught a stomach bug and I spent the majority of my morning cleaning poop and vomit. Mom's are the best, aren't they? Go give your momma a hug or a call. By noonish, she was feeling better. Trey and I had already planned on Erin, taking her to Abilene to spend the night with Trey's parents. So, we sent Chey on her way.
Later that night, Trey and I went out on a date. Dinner at a steakhouse then we went out for dessert and later we went to Billy Bob's to hear country singer Kyle Park in concert. This was my first Billy Bob's experience. The show started at 10:30 pm, so Trey and dozed off in the car for a quick cat nap. Don't judge us.
A special thanks to my friend, Chelsea who got us tickets. This picture was taken at Lululemon's Grand Opening Party.
Did you know Billy Bob's has a live bull riding arena? Yeehaw!
TEXAS. TEXAS.
Real Cowboys.
Everyone have a good memorial weekend. I have more to blog, but gosh I'm tired....We've had one busy day. We ended up taking Cheyenne to the Emergency Room in Abilene, she's fine and all but gosh it's just been a tiring day. She caught a nasty stomach bug, but I think the worst has passed.

Garden Snow Cone Delight
Yesterday, I thought about going to run group, but then decided I needed a slower pace. Evenings are THE busiest time of day for me. It's always rush and hurry-hurry. Chey probably thinks her middle name is C'mon. Cheyenne C'mon.
I didn't feel like rushing from work to run group, then home, then rushing to prepare dinner, and then hurrying to get Cheyenne to bed. We get up early, so it's not like I can say, Oh, she can stay up late tonight. Instead of doing that dizzy dance, I went home, fired up the grill, made a healthy dinner, and went to a snow cone stand with my family.
Before we left home, Chey and I picked the garden for goodies. Do you see all the red?!? TOMATOES. REAL TOMATOES! Last year, my maters never turned red, so I'm allowed to be as happy as I want because this season, I have some!
I told her to pick all the red ones and she kept going for the green. Perhaps, we should spend more time memorizing colors.
If you look through a microscope, you might see arm definition. P90X! I'm on the last week!
My child kept eating all the tomatoes. I'm surprised we have any in that bowl.
PS: I need a hair cut.
For the record, she had a tomato in her mouth.
Chey's first snow cone.
She asked for a Malibu Barbie, but they messed up her order and instead she got bubble gum. It's pink and she inhaled it.
This is soooo Summer
I passed on the snow cone, last night, but I like white coconut or banana without the top. I order it without the top because usually the syrup, sinks to the bottom and let's be honest, if we could - we would drink the syrup straight from the bottle. Okay, not really, but it is delicious.
Who needs shoes?
Notice how, Trey is preoccupied. He's too involved to take a photo.

F-150 Paint & Body Work
Here are some before and after pictures of the truck.
This is what Brandon has been working on. These parts are in Abilene, so we've got this truck spread out all over Texas.
The hood. A little rust. Just a little.
Nice Finish

Video Clip of the Old F-150 Engine
Check out Trey's little dance move, towards the beginning of the video.
Trey's one liners:
- That thing just jumped all in my mouth.
- Is it always this messy pulling an engine?
- Are you okay? NO, I just got radiator in the mouth.

Pizza, Tornadoes, & A Storm Shelter
This evening we had a lovely dinner at Dave and Heather's house.
(picture from a few years ago, when we took the TRE to Dallas)
I knew storms were rolling thru, but I didn't think a tornado was likely. I took my last bite of dessert and that's when I heard tornado sirens. Heather was the first to say, let's go to the storm shelter. <----Yeah, they have an underground storm shelter in their backyard. I was thinking, YES! Let's GO NOW!!!!!
Cheyenne was freaking out and crying. Even though we were acting calm, she could sense something was wrong and she didn't want to leave the toys she was playing with....
So, we huddled in the storm shelter, made jokes, Cheyenne peed in a bucket, Scott, Leah (38 wks prego) and their little family drove over to join us, I cursed myself for leaving my water bottle in the house (I'm OCD about water) and we just waited to get the word that we were in the clear.
From my understanding, there were warnings all over the DFW area. I'm at home safe and watching the news.
Thank you, God for your protection.

Helping Hands
I finally have a working stovetop. Well, kind of...Trey needs to replace a part for one of the burners, but three burners are working. Yessssssssssss, I can cook again.
Cheyenne was eager to help.
She taught him, everything he knows.

Restoring a 1986 F-150 Truck
Today, we took a family trip to Mineral Wells. Trey's friend, Jeff, has a shop out there and is letting Trey use the work space. That's nice! Jeff is also helping Trey, when he is available. Double Nice! When this is all said and done, this will be a beautiful truck. Trey is restoring it for his Dad. Brandon is also involved in this project, he's helping with the body work. So, you could say this is a family project.
I took pictures and also captured video. Be looking out for the videos in another post.

The Shop
I didn't know, I married a grease monkey. Seriously, what can't he do?
Daddy, can I get you a tool?
Cheyenne, obviously did all the work. Trey is only posing for the picture.
Making it look easy
That is Jeff, and that is Jeff realizing Trey just made a mess in his shop.
'This looks like a crime scene. I had to go to the store and buy a lifetime of kitty litter to clean this mess-up.
The Engine
And for the gross close-up. I wonder why the truck died on Trey that one time? Hmmm...
They took the old engine out and will replace it with this brand new baby.
Shiny and New
Oh, that's pretty.
Truck. No Engine.
