Amazing Patience & Growth Chart

I'm amazed at how much patience my 5 year old has with my 2 year old. They are suppose to be asleep, right now and I can hear Chey telling Dakota sweet words of comfort. 

Don't open that door. Don't cry. I don't like it when you cry. 

You will see mommy in the morning. 

Take a deep breathe…in and out…just like that.

Dakota listened to her!! Within a few minutes she was sound asleep.
It's nice to have a caring sister around.

Because sometimes this happens…

The other day, Dakota threw a fit because she didn't want to nap. The result was her sleeping by the door. That was her idea.

In case you were wondering, we are still keeping up with the closet growth chart.

All The Cuteness in the Entire World....

I have to watch this girl, she thinks it's cute to stand up in the tub. It's not so much fun, when she slips on her head or butt.

This was Cheyenne's idea. She insisted on having her bed next to Dakota, so they could hold hands at night and she could comfort her if she started to cry. It's been there for about a week. So sweet, right?

Trey wants to get the girls bunk beds, when they get a little older.

Did you ever share a room with a sibling? I did! We did the whole, this is my side of the room, this is your side. It didn't work so well, when we shared a bed too.
How about bunk beds? Bottom or top? I had bunk beds. I had the top bunk, but I want to say that my sister and I swapped on occasion, but I always remember having the top the majority of the time.

Picnic at Home & The Perfect Sleeping Position

When it's too hot to picnic outside, we picnic at home...inside.
Can we talk about how Dakota looks like a baby princess in her floral dress??? Super cute!!! Notice the toy bottle next to her. It's been months since I've given her a bottle, but every time she sees that toy bottle she puts it to her mouth. She's in denial about aging.

Rest Your Head Anywhere and Everywhere

I don't know what Dakota's deal is, but she doesn't mind sleeping upright. I caught her in her room sleeping like this the other night. After I took the photo she woke up and looked at me like, WHAT???

Oh, and she doesn't mind sleeping in her bouncer.

The best thing to happen to me this week:
The University I work for is providing all employees a free membership to lynda.com.

Lynda offers online training of digital arts, like art software (photoshop, final cut, aperture), as well as different subjects, like photography, videography, design and web. I'm in NERD heaven!


Sleeping Patterns:
Dakota got the memo about me returning to work. This entire week, she's been onboard with an early bedtime, early rise, sleep all through the night -- sleeping schedule. This is how I found her this morning.

My Week in Instagram Pictures

My niece, Angelica will partake in her first communion, which happens to be the same weekend as my mom's wedding -- in two different towns. I won't be able to make it, but I got Angelica this Rosary. Do you know how hard it is to find a Rosary in Cowtown? OK, It wasn't that hard, but seriously Wal-Mart or Sam's Club doesn't carry them and that's where I shop! And they say Wal-Mart has everything....Ha!

Here is a picture from my first communion. I still remember it! It was a special day for me. I'll be thinking about my niece when she makes her first communion.

This is a gift my mom got for Dakota. Her first silverware. How sophisticated. I hope they don't fall in the garbage disposable, while it's running. C'mon, you know I'm not the only one who has ever ruined a fork or spoon on an account of the disposal. I'll do my best to protect this special keepsake set.

Cheyenne sleeps like an angel.

If she naps too long, I go in her room and wake her up. I typically don't let her nap more than two hours, unless I know she's had a long day or will have a long night. I'm such a weird mom, but it works for our family. I must be doing something right because so far she seems to be doing fine.

This morning, I felt like doing some incline walking, so I used this workout, I found on Pinterest. 8% incline is no joke! I also watched an episode of The Chew. They were featuring Mac N' Cheese Recipes. YUM! Exercise + Food + Early Morning = Happy Dom.

Speaking of food:
Soon I'll do another post on the enduraFit Challenge. Here's what I had for dinner last night, FISH. Fish never sounds like a good option, until I'm eating it and then I'm like: Wow this is great, I should eat fish, more often! But then I forget, until the next time. DOH!

Well, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. The in-laws will be in town, so we'll be spending time with them. Cheyenne has been seeing them a lot lately. That girl loves spending time with the family. She's always asking about them.

My Week in Photos

I think I'm going to do a post like this once a week, called my week in photos or my Instagram photos or something random like that. I take pictures when I'm out, and sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to my madness. I find the most random things interesting and photo worthy -- even if they are as random as can be. Some girls like shoes or purses, well I'm OBSESSED with jackets! I found this one, today while I was shopping at the mall. Yes, I understand it's currently in the upper 70's, but I'm praying for a cold front!

I couldn't resist, I had to zip it. I look totally normal, right?

Guess, who I rescued from Abilene? Tasha was losing her mind staying at home during spring break, so she's hanging out with us this weekend. We love this shirt! It's at Wal-Mart for $12 bucks. WISH LIST! We should get matching ones -- all of us!

It's been about 2 or 3 weeks, since I had a protein shake. They make a great dessert or recovery drink.

Here is a purse coolie for my water bottle. I'm serious about my water, y'all. I didn't buy it, but it's a cool idea. The bags are meant for wine bottles, but whatever.

Today, I had the day off and since Tasha was here, she stayed at home and watched Cheyenne while Trey and I went to the gym. I rode 4 miles on the bike, while Trey pumped some iron. I'm so impressed with him, this week he bench pressed 225 lbs.

Last week, Trey and I weighed Cheyenne when we went to the gym. She weighs 40 lbs.

Do you guys ever sleep with a sleeping mask on? This week I did because I was exhausted and Trey wanted to watch TV. When I woke up, I was all confused.

I snuck into Cheyenne's room and took this photo of her, while she was sleeping. All the mom's out there can relate. How many times have you done this? Numerous times, am I right? They grow so fast, I want to savor every moment.

Okay, that's all I have. Everyone have a fantastic weekend. We'll be hanging out with Tasha and Bella.

I Need More Sleep

How many hours of sleep do you get each night? I usually get about 6 hours. I need to take notes from Chey. She can sleep anywhere - anytime.

While she was sleeping, Jasmine, Luis and Pam's dog decided to use me as a pillow. So, for the most part, we are all relaxing during labor day weekend....well, kind of. Goodnight, friends. Time for me to get sleep hopefully, more than 6 hours, tonight.
