My Birthday Girl. Three Years Old.

Today is a special day. Today is Cheyenne's 3rd birthday. This morning I took her to get donuts. That never happens, so she was surprised. This is the first year, she understands it's her special day. Trey wished her a happy birthday and she asked, "What did you get me?" She's a smart girl!

Tonight, Trey and I are going to take her out and later this weekend we'll celebrate with the entire family. That's the great thing about her birthday falling so close to Thanksgiving.

The necklace I got her came with dangly earrings. She asked if she could wear them. Sure. Why not?

She's had her ears pierced since she was 6 months old and we've never taken them off. One day, I'm going to get her diamond earrings, but I want to wait until she's old enough to appreciate them. Actually, I think it would be sweeter if Trey gave them to her. I think it would mean more to her, coming from him. Or maybe I'm just over thinking it.

My little girl has grown so much.
 Easter Sunday
It seems like just yesterday. Is this what I will be saying when she leaves for college?

Now, she's a lithe person. She has so much energy and joy. She is such a blessing to us.

Garage Sale Pickings

The Peterson's had a great big garage sale and I found a few things. Usually, I could care less about garage sales, but they had some nice items. 7 dollars got me all this.

Charger Plates. They are used as decorative plate bases. I've had my eyes on them for a few years. They are usually two to four dollars a plate, but I got them on the cheap.
Garage Sale Pickings
I've been wanting some new jewelry for a while. Well, it's new to me.
Garage Sale Pickings
The black beaded pile to the left is a long scarf and the white piece is a thin sequence scarf. I think I'm going to use the basket for Trey's PlayStation accessories.
Garage Sale Pickings
Do you like going garage sale shopping? I don't normally go, but occasionally see them when I'm out on a run. Sometimes I stop and browse, but most of the time I just keep running.

You Know How to Make a Girl Feel Special

Two years ago, I lost an earring and ever since then, I’ve been craving a new pair. Every holiday, birthday, special occasion, I would remind Trey, “hey sweetie, you know what would be nice?”

Well, about two weeks ago, Trey took me to the Diamond Doctor in Dallas. Have you heard of this place? This place is quite the experience. When you walk in the hallway you are greeted by a security guard, you wait at the entrance and then someone from the other side buzzes you in. Then you wait in a waiting room, which feels like a doctors office. Once a salesperson is available, they call you into the showroom. When you walk-in, you get that feeling that people don’t browse, they walk-in with the intent to purchase.

I had hoop earrings before and this time I thought I wanted round brilliant with princess cut, but once I saw the princess cut stud earrings I fell in love.  1.08 karats in love.  Trey was immediately sold and ready to purchase, but I was on the fence because of the price. The manager overheard me and took a few hundred dollars off the sales price. What? News flash to me: buying diamonds is like buying a car.

Love the clarity. SI1. Now I'm a diamond expert and I know all the lingo. :) I’m so glad I got the studs because whether I'm wearing a dress or a t-shirt they look good.

Thanks Trey for the sparkly earrings! You know how to make a girl feel special.

2nd Doctor Visit & Missing Jewelry

This morning Trey and I went to my second appointment. We had a chance to hear the baby's heartbeat and boy was the baby's heart pounding. At first it took what seemed like an eternity for the doctor to find it, but eventually we heard it nice and clear.

Other than the doctors visit, I've still been trying to work-out. Last night, I went jogging, well if you want to call it that. I only pushed myself to jog .5 miles, before I got winded. This baby inside me just sucks all my juice up. The rest of the 2 mile work-out consisted of walking with Corky.

After the work-out I noticed I was missing one diamond earring that Trey got me for our one year anniversary. I'm so bummed because it's been hours since I realized I lost it and it hasn't shown up anywhere.
The pair look similar to this pair

Those earrings and I have been inseparable for 3 years and now I feel like it's gone forever. Last night, Trey and I retraced my walking route on the scooter going about 3 miles an hour and didn't see it. I saw several neighbors outside and gave them a heads up. This evening I plan on walking the same route and maybe I'll find it. If I can't find it, I might look into the jewelry store and see if I can just purchase one instead of purchasing a pair. I doubt it, but it's worth a shot.
