Rock STAR!!!! & No Plan (Wo)Man

SHE'S BAD TO THE BONE! Cheyenne's First Guitar
Little thing, got her first guitar from Uncle Bubba. She loves it! He even got her a little portable amp, that goes with it.

In similar fashion, my first guitar was also a flying v. I bought it for about 70 bucks at a pawn shop, when I was thirteen. My next guitar, was an acoustic Jasmine Takamine, also purchased from a pawn shop.

I'm training for the Cowtown Half Marathon. There is a training program posted to Cowtown's Website. Here is the link.

I've been using the long runs as a guide, but for the most part I run whatever I feel like. For instance, this morning I woke up and thought, I want to run at least three miles, but when I completed 3, I felt like going for two more. I kind of love this training method. Would I recommend it? No, but it seems to be working for me. It actually makes me want to run more because I don't have a calendar telling me what to do. Does that make sense? The reason why I think this works for me, is because I have been running and have a solid base of miles under my belt, another thing -- since I'm not trying to set any PR's (personal records) I don't have to run fast. Yay!

Speaking of running fast (Pace).....
For a while now, I've been keeping track of my run time and posting to DailyMile. Call me a dork, but I like looking at all the numbers, not just the miles. BUT the further I get along in my pregnancy the more I know I will need to scale back my intensity. I'm already seeing it. I use to run effortlessly at a 9:25'ish pace and these days, on a flat course, I'm comfortable at 10:15 - 10:30. So, I've decided to stop posting my run duration/pace for the world to see. I may post it every now and then and even share some numbers on the blog with you all, but I know by making the decision to not post it EVERYDAY, like I have been, I will relieve MYSELF of the stress to compete with myself.

I'm sure when I'm postpartum, I will go back to posting my time, until then it's all miles on deck!

We were a Sight to See

We've had a pretty good weekend and I would recommend the movie Rendition. However, it was really annoying when the subtitles came on screen because it would freeze and we had to rewind the disc. Luckily, the entire movie was not subtitles. I need to contact Netflix because I'm not sure if it's because it's a faulty disc or our player is to blame.

---------------------------------------------------------
Saturday, Cheyenne and I spent the day shopping at an Outlet Mall, with the girls. We were a sight to see. Including me: five mom's and six kids (correction-7 kids). Talk about a lot of strollers! I was surprised, how well all of them did, even at the restaurant.

It was nice conversing with other mom's and I felt understood, if I said, "Oh, I'm going to step outside of the store to feed and change Cheyenne." I had such a good time. I think we're going to try to plan another day out. We're going to go to another outlet mall or make a trip to Ikea. I vote Ikea! But that will be a drive, on second thoughts maybe another outlet isn't a bad idea.

About the shopping, I didn't really buy anything I needed, well, that's not true...I bought a much needed belt. I really need new work clothes, especially pants. Most of my work pants are falling off my bottom.

Here are some pictures of Cheyenne before we went to church. Trey was serenading her on the guitar.

I'd say she's got a little belly on her. Wouldn't you?

When we went to church Serena gave Cheyenne this adorable dress. Serena made it and I think it looks great!

It looks good with or without jeans.

Cheyenne seems to like it.

Playing the Bass Guitar Again

It's been almost a year and a half since I last played bass guitar in a band. Well, a few weeks ago, I mentioned to Dave, the worship leader, (at our new church) that Trey and I both play instruments and we wouldn't mind substituting.

At first, I was hesitant to tell him because I didn't want any of the current band members to feel like I was trying to replace them. But I know from my own experience, that I appreciate it when other musicians would rotate with me from week to week. It gave me a chance to take a breather and worship from the other side of the pulpit.

I guess I didn't step on any toes, because we've been asked to play with the band this coming Sunday. So, last night we went over to Dave's house for dinner, as well as practice. Dave's wife made dinner and we really talked more than we practiced. They are a young couple like us and have a one year old daughter.

Anyways, I'm familiar with most of the songs and feel pretty good about playing Sunday. I do have to admit, I feel a little self conscious with a bass guitar and belly. It's awkward enough playing a masculine instrument and then there's this ball in my stomach region that appears to be getting bigger by the day.

More on my belly--- during practice, Cheyenne kept moving while I played the bass. I guess it was because I was sitting down and pressing the backside of it, against my stomach. She also started swimming when Trey played Dave Matthew's. Sometimes, when Trey's playing guitar around the house I like to put my stomach as close as I can to it, just to see if she'll respond.
