My Bluebonnet Babies

Dakota is 10 months old and shining...

Dakota is 44 Weeks Old

-She has 2 teeth, front bottom area
- She can wave
- Cheyenne can make her giggle like nobody's business
- Occasionally she cries if I pass her and I don't acknowledge her presence
- She reaches out for me, when she wants me
- Da-Da is a word she says often. She still has not learned how to say Ma-Ma.
- Strawberry Puree is her favorite solid food
- I'm doing my best to keep up with her demand, but she's still exclusively a breastfed baby.

The thing I love most about this photo is that it captures her curiosity. She loves reaching out and examining everything.
Bluebonnet Photos of the Girls
In case you are wondering, Mrs. Amanda took photos of the girls, she did a fantastic job!
I keep seeing my friends posting bluebonnet photos, but I have not seen any, this season. Where are they hiding???

P.S. When did she grow-up????

Bluebonnets, Law Breaker & Looking at the Positives

I wanted to chat about running, but first pretty bluebonnet pictures.

Bluebonnet Field
There is nothing like getting a toddler dressed up, driving to a bluebonnet hot spot, and within 5 minutes she says, "I've gotta pee!" We may have broken the law by allowing her to take care of business outside. After that mess, she says, "I've gotta poo-poo!" Umm, that's when I knew it was time to evacuate and find the nearest bathroom.

Our bluebonnet picture taking experience was cut short, but I managed to get 3 "decent" photos.

The sun was not working in my favor, but sometimes you just have to work with what you've got. I had a pretty model so we made it work. I would've preferred to stay longer, but at least we made it out there.

I may or may not try again.

Looking at the Positives
It's been about 6 weeks, since I ran. My last long run was the Cowtown Half Marathon (February 26th). A few days later, I recall trying to to run, but I could only muster out a pitiful 2 miler, due to pelvic pain. There are moments when I'm so frustrated because I can't run, but when that happens I try to point out the positives.
Just started the Half-Marathon
- This is my time to rest and recover..
- Cross Training: I can spend more time on the gym bike and elliptical. When I get into a heavy marathon/ultra training plan, I always want to spend more time doing these things, now it's my chance.
- For the first time in a long time, Saturday mornings are not dedicated to running long. This means I can sleep in, if I want. I don't have to worry about carving out a 2 hour block of window for running.
- Saturday afternoons are not dedicated to recovery. After knocking out a killer long run, I'd spend a few hours in compression socks, nap, refuel and basically be non-productive. I would say, NOW I have more energy, but growing a baby is hard work too and tiring, most days...
- I miss running! But when I return in good health, I'll be ready and hungry for more. Right now, I'm hungry for another ultra, but the thought of training post pregnancy is enough to scare me. Who knows, what's next? I don't, but I know my journey back to running (post pregnancy) will be rewarding.

That Saying, "Half the Things We Worry About..."
I talk more about freelance work than my actual job. I just prefer not to blog everyday/every week about my job-job, BUT I thought I'd fill you guys in....
Today, I had my work evaluation. I was a little nervous, since I'm reporting to a "new to me" supervisor. This new superior doesn't work directly with me on a day-to-day basis, so I was concerned she didn't have enough information on me to do a thorough evaluation. Well, everything worked out and my review was OUTSTANDING. Yippee! Now, I feel silly for worrying. It reminds me of that saying, half the things we worry about, never even happen. Worrying is such a waste of time and energy.

Honey Do List & Time for a Spring Garden

Trey and Cheyenne went for a walk and they found a nice patch of bluebonnets in the neighborhood. Do you take pictures sitting in bluebonnets? I never cared to, not until I had Cheyenne. Now, every year, I look forward to taking her portrait in a field of flowers. I may get out this weekend and do that.
 Bluebonnets
I may be busy taking photos, but Mr. Handyman has his on set of projects to take care of. He asked me to make him a list. These are things that have needed attention for months. We've just learned to live life without. We're adaptable. We've had drainage issues with our master bathroom sinks, so instead of using the sink in there, we've been using the sink in the kitchen and/or the guest bathroom.
Trey's Honey-Do List
Do you have a honey do list you need to take care of?
One thing I need to add to my list is start my spring garden. I think we're clear of any freezes. It was so warm this winter, I had an herb garden year round. Basil, Parsley and Mint were the three herbs that didn't survive the mild winter. I had Cilantro, Rosemary, Thyme, and Oregano year-round. I need to consider what I will plant this season. I'm taking suggestions, if you have any. Herbs and Veggies!

This photo is from last spring. Oh, I'm looking forward to the smell of spring - bright colors, fresh cut grass, cool breeze, grilling. Oh, I've missed it. Herb Garden

Bluebonnets: Take One

Every year, I like to take photos of Cheyenne in the bluebonnets. Yesterday, we went at the wrong time of the day. Even though the sun casted some harsh shadows, I still got a few cute shots. I'm going to try to get outside again and take more photos, before the bluebonnets disappear.
Bluebonnets: Take One
Do you guys like to take photos of your little ones/love ones in a field of bluebonnets? It seems quite popular around here. Our neighborhood is known for blooming gobs of bluebonnets, so it makes our photo trip convenient.
Bluebonnets: Take One
I love this photo.

Bluebonnets: Take One
Did everyone have a good weekend? We did! I discovered that running trail. I thought it would be nice to take Cheyenne and Trey, so we tried to walk it and quickly realized, the trail is not toddler friendly. We left as soon as we arrived. :/

I was glad Trey had a chance to see, at least a little bit of, where I run. I'm really good about sending him a Glympse - it's an app I have on my phone. Basically, it's a GPS tracking type of text message. He can see my progress in real-time....how fast I'm going and exactly where I'm running.  BUT it's one thing to see me running, on an online map and another to see the trail in real life. I think he was impressed with the trail.

Bluebonnets in Full Bloom

She smiles just like Trey.
Bluebonnets
Every year, the bluebonnets bloom in our neighborhood. This year they seemed to be bigger and brighter.

These last two portraits are from last week. Trey and I tried taking pictures while she was wearing one of her Easter dresses. The sun was setting, just as I snapped these.
