The Game Changer. This Changes Everything.

Our close friends and our family know, for the last two years, Trey and I have been unhappy with our mortgage payment. I had talked to Trey numerous times about our "escape plan." We needed to be out of the house within so many years...that was "the plan."

Which was sad because even though it's a house, I've grown to love it. The neighborhood is wonderful, our neighbors are friendly, the school district is fantastic and don't even get me started on all the surrounding running options - Trinity Trails, the lake, the dirt trail, the nearby gym and my neighborhood.

We were willing to give all that up, just so we could live comfortably and breathe again. Financial Peace is better than a pretty home. We were going to downsize to another neighborhood, another house, with a reasonable mortgage payment. My house fever got so bad that we were looking at available homes on the market and even driving by a few in the Fairmont District.

For a while I've been hearing all about: NOW is the TIME to refinance your home and get a low interest rate. Several weeks ago, Trey and I contacted a lending company, gave them our mortgage numbers and they came back with a jaw dropping interest rate, which would drop our monthly mortgage payments. We're talking mind-blowing numbers! It was, a GAME CHANGER, BUT everything was contingent on the home appraisal. The housing market is unpredictable and I was not about to celebrate before we got word back from the appraiser. Yesterday, Trey found out the news before me and he told me, "You might want to sit down, for this...." It was not the time for joking. Well, our home appraised more than what we needed it to, which means, we ARE refinancing! I feel like I can breathe again. Thank you Jesus for answered prayers. It feels like a huge burden has been lifted off my chest. Also, is this what it feels like when you get a pay raise? I wouldn't know, that's why I'm asking? Haha!

Saturday is our closing day.

This feels like home and I'm glad we will be sticking around for a while.
