Notes: Around mile seven, my ankle felt sore. I thought about icing it, when I got home, but never had a chance. It's 4:30, right now and it feels fine.
Since I didn't have Cheyenne at the house, this morning, I didn't feel pressured to get out of bed at the crack of dawn and hit the trail. Instead, I took my time getting up, it was still early, but it wasn't too bad. Along the trail, I took a moment to catch my breath and record this video. It's one of my favorite spots, on the path. It's nice living close to this trail. It makes running ten miles more scenic than running on a treadmill.
Today, I felt like a had a pretty good pace going and now seeing the numbers, I'm thinking running a 10 minute pace-per-mile for the half marathon, might be a more realistic goal than I originally thought. I'm not going to put too much pressure on myself, but it would be nice if I could accomplish that goal.
I'm still enjoying the last few days of my vacation, but I'm looking forward to getting back to my regular routine. It has been hard sticking to training, over this break. There was a blizzard, there was ice, and then there was me cleaning the house. I usually cross train once a week and run three times a week. Over this break, I threw cross training out the window and only found time and motivation to run twice a week.
