On MLK day, the girls and I spent the entire day together. Chey wrote down our plans. Her two main requests:
1. Go out to eat for lunch
2. Do something outside
First Stop:
Pizza Snob near Texas Christian University.
I ordered the street taco pizza and the girls ordered cheese pizza. Dakota LOVED IT! She ate four slices!
Second Stop:
Nature Walk
The girls and I walked under 2 miles.

A Week of Inspiration
Last week, I attended a filmmakers conference in San Antonio. The event is called In-Focus.
The majority of the attendees are wedding and commercial filmmakers. I went last year, when the event was in Charleston.
I feel like InFocus brings the most talented people in event filming together. The conference was a three day event. Two days were seminar style and there was one full day of hands-on sessions at a ranch. I arrived one day early to San Antonio to get settled into the hotel and explore the area. The hotel was directly across the street from The Alamo. Here are some of the pictures from my time at InFocus. If you are curious to know more about the conference, let me know. I'd love to go again, next year!
The Ranch
This wagon ride that shuttled us to and from classes
The majority of us had gear
So impressed with longhorns….
Hands on sessions
One of the keynote speakers lives in an airstream. He parked it on the ranch.
This is the interior. Kind of cool.
After our sessions on the ranch, there was a mixer party.
Concert on the ranch
Roasting marshmallows and editing by the fire

Airstreaming Close to Home
Once the ice melted in Abilene, we drove back to DFW. Trey had to work (his business has been doing well in the winter months). The girls and I were still in vacation and airstream mode and we were not ready to go home. Trey worked the rest of the week and the girls and I spent time at a park, close to home. There were a few nights, Trey stayed with us, but for the most part the girls and I were camping solo. We had a wedding that week and we also went to the Cotton Bowl, so staying close to home worked out for us!

The Snow Storm
A few days after Christmas….
While we were camping in Abilene a winter storm swept through. We got a lot of ice and the next day there was snow.
We decided to extend our stay and stay an additional 2 days.
When I wasn't visiting with family, I spent a lot of time here.
