Backyard Wedding in South Dakota

My sweet friend Jeri got married, last weekend. Here are a few snapshots from her weekend wedding.

Friday afternoon, I flew into Sioux Falls. Jeri and Meg picked me up from the airport and we headed straight to the rehearsal.  I finally, met the groom - Kyle!

All of Jeri's friends and family were so nice. After the rehearsal, I headed back to Jeri's apartment. We were in bed somewhat early. 5A3A7253
Saturday, our day started at Panera Bread and then the salon.

Jeri was so laid back and cool the entire morning. By mid-morning she was ready for the wedding and we had enough time, she decided to have a first look with Kyle, before the ceremony. That was such a sweet moment. I know she'll be writing a post about the wedding, so if you'd like to see more pictures or hear about more details you can follow her blog at http://jerbear8.blogspot.com

It was such a great weekend!!! I'm so happy for Jeri, Kyle and their pug Ollie!

Being Thrown in the Pool - Slow-Mo Videos

This past weekend we attended a family wedding in Midland. We stayed at a hotel and the kids loved the pool. Trey had fun throwing the kids around. Make sure to watch Trey's belly flop.

Fourth of July Weekend

Friday, I worked a wedding in Azle. Everything ran smoothly! The ceremony was outside and the lighting was gorgeous. The entire time I was at the venue, so I didn't have to run around from one location to another, which is normally the case. It was pretty laid back. I can't wait to edit it, I got some pretty footage.
Working at the orchard
Saturday morning, we went to movies and watched Inside Out. I'm such a baby. I cried the entire time!!!! What Inside Out emotion are you? There is not an emo character, but if there was one, that would be me. Actually, I'd be a mix of Joy and Emo. The movie was insanely entertaining, even if you don't have kids - you should watch it.

Later that afternoon, we went over to a friends house. Brian from our Sunday school class threw a pool party and he had a pretty good turn out.

Sunday, we went out for lunch.

Sunday afternoon, we hiked. It was about a mile hike. We stopped along the trail, took pictures and played. It was a great holiday weekend!

Saturday, I recorded Josh and Sommer's wedding in Mineloa. It was a gorgeous wedding, despite the morning rain. The rain cleared up - in time for the outdoor reception.
Wedding I shot this past weekend
Sommer booked me a hotel room, so I wouldn't have to make a 2 hour drive home following the reception. I woke up pretty early on Sunday, drove to the church to pick up a cord I had accidentally left behind (it's not a wedding unless I forget something) and then I made the drive back home.
Wedding I shot this past weekend
Later that afternoon, Cheyenne and I had a ballet date at Bass Hall. Last Ballet of the 2014-2015 Texas ballet theater season
While we were there, we met up with Amanda (She use to watch the girls for me). I won an extra pair of ballet tickets (it was a Texas Ballet Theater FB contest) and I gave her my tickets, since I already had a pair. I also won tickets to the Botanical Gardens and Japanese Garden...I kept those and plan on taking the family this summer before it gets too hot.
At the Ballet with Cheyenne and Amanda
I'm surprised how much Cheyenne likes going to the ballet and can sit through it without getting fidgety. Typically, the show is about 2 hours long. The intermission and breaks help. She takes a pen and notepad in case she doesn't want to watch parts of the performance. This was the first time, this season, she sat and watched the majority of the show. Going to the ballet is something we look forward to doing together. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in a previous post, but I went ahead and subscribed to another season with Texas Ballet Theater, so that means we'll be going to more shows in the fall and spring. Now, I'd like to look into doing something with Dakota….some one-on-one with her. She's too young for the ballet, right now. If you have any ideas, let me know. I'll be kicking some ideas around.

After the ballet Chey and I drove to Grapevine to meet Dakota and Trey at Great Wolf Lodge! I'll write more about that in the next blog post!

That Time, Trey Operated a Camera

I usually work by myself at weddings, but Trey helped me with a camera, during the Austin wedding. When I was reviewing footage, I came across this image. He's multi-talented.

I have two more weddings to shoot for the rest of the year. And a whole lot of editing to do.

Crazy Storm & A Little Work Trip

Thursday, while I was at work, Arlington got hit with a massive storm. The storm lasted for 30 minutes. After it was over, there was a lot of damage, power outages, street lights not working, and so much traffic. It took me 2 hours to get home.

The next day, campus was closed - due to the power still being out. I took Dakota to daycare and Chey went to school. I worked from home on small business stuff. I also had a chance to prep my gear for a wedding.

Saturday, Trey and I drove to Austin. I was so excited that he was able to go with me. His business, has kept him busy, but he made it a priority to join me on this weekend work trip. Saturday night we went out for dinner and then watched Gone Girl.

We actually stayed in Buda and then Sunday, I filmed a wedding at Chapel Dulcinea.

This is not the chapel I filmed at, I just like the way this chapel looks. I ran past it, Saturday morning before heading to the wedding. I managed to get 6 miles in.

Here's my groom and bride. Ahhh, they are so freakin' cute! I can't wait to edit their film! Check my business blog for more pictures from the wedding.

I Have Sweet Friends

This past week, Chey was sick, well Wednesday I came down with a head cold, chills, fever and an ear infection. On top of all that Dakota started coughing.

Being sick is tough.

I committed to filming a wedding, so yesterday, I sucked it up and made it through a 13 hour work day.  I woke up that morning with high hopes, since I was feeling somewhat normal, but as the day progressed, my condition got worse. My voice was shot, I had to scream just for people to hear me -- which wasn't really a scream at all - it was more of a whisper. My ears were popping, and my throat felt like it was bleeding and throbbing. I could go on and on and say how horrible it was, but instead I'll turn my focus on the positive stuff, like today how my friends from church bought me goodies, when they heard I was not feeling well.

My friends Dan and Kristin brought me homemade chicken broth and Elderberry Syrup.
Rosa, my friend who watches the girls made Dakota and I cinnamon flavored water. Dakota loves this stuff. Oh, and Krista and Casey took Cheyenne to church today. My friends are the best!

Going back to Saturday ---
During the day, I tried to keep my energy up, by eating some quick snacks.

This was me at the wedding reception. All smiles, trying to smile my pain away. Smiling and being positive did help, some....I'm glad to be home and resting up. Night. Night.

I'm in Love With Love

Here is the first wedding I've produced for Mulberry Lane Studio. This was a party! I don't think I've ever been to a wedding, where the couple was literally dancing to every song. They even danced during the ceremony.

I love my job. Enjoy!

All These Weddings Make Me Want to Walk Down the Aisle Again & Last Day of School Treat

A few days ago, I recorded a wedding at Classic Oaks Ranch. The venue was fabulous….something you'd see in a bridal magazine. I'll be editing that for the next few weeks. The groom and bride wanted to have a first look, before walking down the aisle. This moment was so special!

I told Trey, all these weddings make want to get married again. Trey responded with you should be saving for a college fund and wedding(s) for the girls. True. I let Chey watch some of the ceremony, as I was editing. Chey is such a girlie-girl and loves weddings too.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monday, was the last day of school for my niece. I picked her up from school and we went to sonic and bought slushes. I got Dakota ice water so she could feel like a cool kid too - I think she figured out that the big girls had slushes because later I found her drinking Chey's cherry limeade.

Work and Wine

Camie & Blake's Wedding (Highlight Video) from Dominique Anderson on Vimeo.

Hey, business is doing great! Here is the finished product - or at least what I can share online with the world. This was such a beautiful wedding. The full feature highlight video ended up being over 20 minutes long. I'm meeting the bride today. I hope she likes red wine.

Weekends and Nights Have Been Consumed

During my spare time, I've been editing wedding footage. I have a few minor details to finish, but overall the bulk of the work is done. Last night, I completed the highlight video. I'll post the video later - once the bride signs off on it.

Awwww, I love weddings. I have 3 coming up in June. I don't do any advertising, so it's always fun to hear how brides hear about my business. I'm thankful for word of mouth from local photographers and other videographers. I'm extremely grateful that others recommend my work.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other than editing, Trey and I are enjoying some one on one time with Dakota. Cheyenne is in Abilene visiting with family this week. Dakota is loving all the attention she's getting. Do you blame the girl?

My Best Work to Date

Saturday, I recorded a wedding in Joshua. The photographer wasn't able to make it to the second location, so the bride and groom asked me to take some stills as well as video. I only took a few, since my main focus and hired purpose was to be there to record the wedding. Here are a few pictures that I took at the second location, Eagle Mountain Lake in Ft. Worth.

I didn't know the bride prior to her hiring me, she found me via my vimeo.com page. We wrote and texted often, months leading up to the wedding. She knew what she wanted and sent me tidbits of wedding details along the way. It was lovely working with her.

I can't wait to edit this video. Based on the footage I've reviewed so far, I think this is going to be my best work, to date. Pretty exciting!!!!

My Week in Photos

This weekend I had a video wedding opportunity…So, Friday night, I spent a few hours organizing and getting re-acquainted with my gear.
Organizing Gear for a Wedding
It was a fast evening of work. I documented the pre-ceremony and ceremony, that's it.

Earlier this week, the girls and I had a picnic at Sams Club. That's normal, right?

Packed lunches, from home. We got a few stares, but people seemed mostly amused with this princess.

Andrew & Sherri's Wedding Ceremony (Video)

Here is a clip from the wedding I recorded on Saturday. The entire ceremony will be included on the DVD. If you want to scroll to the 3 minute mark, there is a fun surprise.

I'm so glad I was part of this day. Sherri, is a dear friend of mine.
We went to high school together, but didn't meet until college, when we started working together at 89.7 KACU FM. We were both on-air announcers. When she introduces me to her friends she says, this is the girl that is responsible for me running. Haha! When I got obsessed with running, I kind of took her with me.
This is a picture of Sherri and I at Cowtown 2012. I was 6 months pregnant with Dakota.

Weekend without the kids

Saturday, after I ran Cedar Ridge Trail Race, I went home, cleaned up and then headed to Weatherford to record a wedding.

Sunday, Trey and I slept in for a bit, FaceTimed' with the girls and then headed to Six Flags. Cheyenne was not pleased, when she found out we went without her. We got there right when the park opened and didn't have to wait in long lines. We left around 2 pm and then went swimming.

Later that night, we went to Tillman's Roadhouse and I got my s'mores fix.

I've been wanting to eat at Tillman's for years.
