It's Time to Stay Home

I've been enjoying my work free weekends and evenings with the girls. We've been hanging out. Hear what Dakota has to say about the time…

Here are some other things we've been doing.

We can't help, but be outside, especially with the cooler temps. Saturday morning, after I got back from my 22 mile run, Cheyenne wanted to go for a bike ride. I told her I would walk and she could ride.

Being Thrown in the Pool - Slow-Mo Videos

This past weekend we attended a family wedding in Midland. We stayed at a hotel and the kids loved the pool. Trey had fun throwing the kids around. Make sure to watch Trey's belly flop.

Running Around the House

I got a new piece of equipment - it is a glidecam. I've been practicing around the house. I had Dakota run around and I was following her. Here is a short snippet of that…The majority of the footage I've captured, so far looks pretty terrible. I need a ton of practice!!!!!

This is what the glidecam looks like. It's heavy and the most challenging piece of equipment!
This is challenging!!! glidecam #practice
Friday, I watched my nephew for a few hours, while my older sister packed. She's moving back to Abilene. I'm sad she's moving, but at the same time, I'm happy for her new chapter in life.

Craving Warm Weather and Family Time

I thought I'd share a little short film I made of our family at Six Flags. This is actually a new service I'm offering. I'd love for family films to become as mainstream as family portraits. Wishful thinking, but wouldn't that be wonderful? Can you imagine how wonderful it will be for the girls to have all these short films to look back on when they are adults? I'm not talking about static portraits, I'm talking about excitement you can see in motion! I showed the girls this film and I promise, Dakota watched it at least 10 times. Finally, I had to say, "Ok, that's enough."

Dakota wants to know when we will be going back. Now, I'm hungry for weekends and warmer weather. Dakota can ride a lot of the rides in the kid area, as long as I ride with her. Trey gets motion sickness on small rides, so I'm the parent who gets to have all the fun.

Snow Day Video and Girls Night Out/In

I promised the girls a girls night out...that was before I knew we were going to get hit with a snow storm. They still wanted to go out, so we did...to the closest food place around and then we went shopping for goodies - and spent the evening baking and playing at home.

We set up a hair salon and did each others hair.

It's still snowing outside. Yesterday, Cowtown announced the cancellation of the 5K and 10K races. Now,  there is a possibility that they will cancel the marathon races. Stay tune!

Christmas Eve

This afternoon, Cheyenne and I went to Texas Ballet Theater's The Nutcracker at Bass Performance Hall. Now, we are in the Christmas spirit. We had planned on going to Christmas eve church service, but Chey got nauseous in the car and threw up twice.

To help her tummy feel better we made cookies???? Dakota was really getting into it.

Chey will be alright, once we got home from the ballet she was feeling 90% better.
Okay, goodnight! Gotta go to bed, before Santa gets here!
Is that Chey's naughty face?

Dakota's Many Faces Of Surgery (VIDEOS)

This morning Dakota had surgery to remove her ear tags. I'll post photos later, but I think you will enjoy these videos.

I'm in Love With Love

Here is the first wedding I've produced for Mulberry Lane Studio. This was a party! I don't think I've ever been to a wedding, where the couple was literally dancing to every song. They even danced during the ceremony.

I love my job. Enjoy!

Work and Wine

Camie & Blake's Wedding (Highlight Video) from Dominique Anderson on Vimeo.

Hey, business is doing great! Here is the finished product - or at least what I can share online with the world. This was such a beautiful wedding. The full feature highlight video ended up being over 20 minutes long. I'm meeting the bride today. I hope she likes red wine.

I Like to Experiment: Timelapse

Lately, I've been experimenting with time-lapse.

The time frame from December-Feburary is kind of my slow season. When I have "down time", I usually watch a ton of training videos, do product research, watch for trends in the field and then I go out and experiment. PLAY TIME FOR PROFESSIONALS! Timelapse has always fascinated me and today I finally took a stab at it. The glare in the middle is a reflection from an indoor florescent light, in case you were concerned it was a UFO. :) This is my first timelapse, not my last! Here's to capturing gorgeous Texas sunrises and sunsets!

My 365 Video Project, Running with a Gang and a Week of Photos

So, like I mentioned before I'm doing a 365 project. I'm recording a second of video everyday this year. To make things interesting, I will post my progress on the blog every now and then. Here's what I have from Jan. 1 - 11.
How is your weekend so far? I'm doing great. I spent a small portion of my morning at the Cowtown Marathon office.
Cowtown Office
This morning I ran 16 miles. I met up with a huge group of runners, who plan on running the Cowtown Marathon. (photo credit: Cowtown). Can you find me? Here's a hint, I'm wearing pink. Before that picture was taken, I only knew two people there….during that long run, I made several new friends. Running brings people together! Afterwards, we ate free food. Yum!
Cowtown training run
Ok, now for the random photos from my week. Here's another view of my office, but a different angle. I have 5 computer monitors. They all serve a purpose. (that's how I justify it)

Kids these days are so spoiled…so many monitors, even in the car. Oh, wait…..
Living it up in a mini-van
Mrs. Amanda had a check-up doctors appt. While she was at the appt, she made Chey wear this mask. She was sick, but not that sick. I laughed so hard. It was funny.

Chey and Luke having a sweet moment together. Well, that's all I have. Good night.

My 1 Second Everyday Video (Dec 5 - 31)

For the past few weeks, I've been documenting my life by recording one second clips. I plan on continuing this project through 2014!

Enjoy and Happy New Year's Eve! Trey and I went out to celebrate early. Yum!

New Camera Bag That Doubles as a Purse #KellyMoore

But first this…I LOVE this picture! This is from Clara's Tea Party.
Clara's Tea Party with Texas Ballet Theater
Okay, now for my post…
For about 3 years, I've been eyeballing kelly moore bags. A Purse (slash) Camera bag, what's not to love?

This is a still frame from the Crummel wedding. It's hard to see but this is what my typical get-up looks like…I film with a 5D Mark III and while I film, I wear a crossover bag.
Filming at Crummel Wedding
Here is the purse I've been using for years. Very pretty, but not so practical.
Whether it's a wedding or photo event like pinning, I always have a crossover purse on, while I work. The only exception is studio.
In my tiny purse I carry:
- 1 Camera Battery
- 50 mm lens (sometimes)
- SD/CF Card Wallet
- 4 AA Batteries
- Business Cards
My little purse is starting to rip! For years, I've been meaning to replace it with another crossover suitable for formal occasions.
What I'd also like to carry in my purse, that I haven't been able to carry, due to size limitations:
- iPhone
- More AA Batteries
- T2i Back-up Camera
- Back-up Battery for VidPro LED Light

Here's the solution: a Kelly Moore Posey 2 purse.

Instead of buying online, I went to one of the local camera shops in town, Arlington Camera. The sales guy wasn't sure if the bags were still on sale, so he asked (I'm assuming the manager) and he said sure, give her the discount! Yay, 10% off! Here's a video of Kelly Moore talking about the bag. She said the reason she created this bag was because it was the perfect size to carry when filming weddings. I totally agree! Perfect size!

MeFoto Globetrotter
While I was there I also got a MeFoto Globetrotter tripod. This tripod is so adorable. Can I call it that? I haven't had a chance to play with it too much, but I reallyyyyyyy want it to work out for taking studio portraits. I hope it does. I need something light, but sturdy enough to hold a large DSLR. This can hold up to 27 lbs. It also doubles as a monopod and folds away so tiny! At the bottom of the picture is the bag. I told you, T-I-N-Y.

Trey Likes to Scare People with My Taser (Video)

Have you ever been tased? See how Trey taunts my younger sister, Natasha. She had no idea what he was doing. She was just going to the fridge to get her birthday ice cream, that's when Trey did this….

Trey loves to pick on her. I promise, he did not actually tase her.

Video Messages, Baby Fights Back, a Sing-along & More (Video Uploads)

When Trey works late, sometimes we send him a video message. Dakota was confused on what kind of emotion to express, so she expressed two!
:)
:(

Every now and then Cheyenne gets rough with her little sister, here is an example of that
And Cheyenne's response: She's happy!!!!!

Don't worry, Dakota fights back, check out her killer leg jabs
It's always a sing-along when 22 plays
