A Nice Treat. Nails & Laughter.

For Christmas, Mrs. Amanda and Mr. Drew got Cheyenne and I gift cards to a nail salon.
Wasn't that nice of them??? After work, I met Chey and Amanda at the salon, while Mr. Drew watched their kids, plus Dakota.

I've had my nails done, but I've never had a pedicure and Cheyenne had never had her toenails professionally done either, so we decided to go with the pedicures.

I'm sooo ticklish and so is Chey. I laughed so hard when the worker was scrubbing my feet. He probably thought I was a weirdo. Cheyenne laughed and kicked a little too. I made sure to tell the worker, don't scrub off my callices...I'm a runner. He used a sponge instead of an intense scrubber.

My Week in Photos

Trey got off of work early…he's the boss man now, so I guess he can do stuff like that. He surprised Chey and picked her up early from childcare. He took her to see Lego the movie. She called me at work to tell me how excited she was.

This Happened, Today & Complicated Childcare

Composite delivered
Last night, Trey helped me frame the latest composite work for UTA Nursing. This is outside contract work, that I do twice a year. The Off-campus (online) students heard about this service and they've requested that I provide photography for them as well. There are over 100 off-campus students in this upcoming May cohort and about half of them live in the DFW area. Not all of them will participate in the composite, but it is an option for them. This is pretty exciting and I'm so glad I can offer this service to them as well.

It looks like my business is expanding. On that note, childcare is getting more complicated. Especially with Amanda due with baby number 3. She has about 4 weeks left, but she's has a reputation of delivering early, so really she's due any day now. I have upcoming weddings that I will record, so I have to find childcare on Saturdays and Sundays when those are scheduled. I have a friend who said she will watch the girls while Amanda is on maternity leave and then another who said to call her, if I need back-up. Now, to figure out everything in between, like working weekends.

I have been looking into non-traditional childcare centers. There are a few places that offer drop-in childcare. I'm really considering a place like that, when my childcare girls are not available.

My Week in Photos

This weekend I had a video wedding opportunity…So, Friday night, I spent a few hours organizing and getting re-acquainted with my gear.
Organizing Gear for a Wedding
It was a fast evening of work. I documented the pre-ceremony and ceremony, that's it.

Earlier this week, the girls and I had a picnic at Sams Club. That's normal, right?

Packed lunches, from home. We got a few stares, but people seemed mostly amused with this princess.

I ran 19 miles with my new running friends! This was big weekend highlight for me. I can't wait to run with them again.

My 365 Video Project, Running with a Gang and a Week of Photos

So, like I mentioned before I'm doing a 365 project. I'm recording a second of video everyday this year. To make things interesting, I will post my progress on the blog every now and then. Here's what I have from Jan. 1 - 11.
How is your weekend so far? I'm doing great. I spent a small portion of my morning at the Cowtown Marathon office.
Cowtown Office
This morning I ran 16 miles. I met up with a huge group of runners, who plan on running the Cowtown Marathon. (photo credit: Cowtown). Can you find me? Here's a hint, I'm wearing pink. Before that picture was taken, I only knew two people there….during that long run, I made several new friends. Running brings people together! Afterwards, we ate free food. Yum!

Ok, now for the random photos from my week. Here's another view of my office, but a different angle. I have 5 computer monitors. They all serve a purpose. (that's how I justify it)

Kids these days are so spoiled…so many monitors, even in the car. Oh, wait…..
Living it up in a mini-van
Mrs. Amanda had a check-up doctors appt. While she was at the appt, she made Chey wear this mask. She was sick, but not that sick. I laughed so hard. It was funny.

Chey had a hard time putting on her boots, so she had to wear Luke's sperry's. She was not excited! I mean, really, where's the pink?

This is my snack, y'all. Sam's Club has the best bulk snacks. I bought this bag, when I had a marathon of a day doing headshots.

P.S. I'm back on Instagram. I think I'll keep it business related, but occasionally post personal stuff.

TBT Open House & Trunk or Treat

We've gotten the biggest bang out of Halloween costumes this year. The girls have worn them, often! Chey even wore hers to a princess birthday party.
Saturday afternoon, Dakota was feeling better, so I took a chance and took her to Texas Ballet Theater's Open House. She was fine. I guess the candy helped.
Ballet Studio Open House Fall Festival
The festival was inside and after the girls hit all the booths, there was a studio performance. The advanced students and trainees performed several repertoires. The advanced students are quite impressive to watch and make it look easy. I know it's not easy, but they make it look effortless. The girls all sat like good girls and watched the 30 minute performance, I was really proud of them.

Today, Mrs. Amanda invited us to join her and her family to go trunk or treating at Luke's school. This was the first time I had ever been to one. It was fun and not too crowded, but lots of treats for the kiddos.
This was our favorite trunk. Flynn Rider from Tangled.

And here's the gang.

Dakota's face was a little sour because she wanted me to hold her. The princes wants what she wants. Such a diva.

Occassionally, I buy Amanda and the kiddos donuts. They were pretty excited this morning.

I got some purple Cauliflower from Central Market. All I could think of while I was eating my salad was -- Go TCU Frogs!

More food related images. The kids made apple pie this week. Chey brought some home to share with us and ended up eating most of it. I don't blame her, it was delicious!

For several years my ice machine stopped working. A few months ago, Trey wiggled the ice box around and all of a sudden it started working again. STRANGE!
Earlier this week, the water dispenser started gushing out water and it wouldn't stop. Trey had to drag the fridge out and stop the line or something like that -- I don't know, I'm a girl. If I was home alone and that happen -- I would probably just scream.
