Halloween 2015

Last year, I filmed a wedding on Halloween, but this year, I didn't have to work. Trey and I took the girls to trunk or treat and then walked our neighborhood. The girls got sooooo much candy!

We found these My Little Pony costumes at Sam's Club. These days they are really into MLP. Occasionally, I'll sit down and watch an episode with them. It's pretty good.

Saturday, I recorded Josh and Sommer's wedding in Mineloa. It was a gorgeous wedding, despite the morning rain. The rain cleared up - in time for the outdoor reception.
Wedding I shot this past weekend
Sommer booked me a hotel room, so I wouldn't have to make a 2 hour drive home following the reception. I woke up pretty early on Sunday, drove to the church to pick up a cord I had accidentally left behind (it's not a wedding unless I forget something) and then I made the drive back home.

Later that afternoon, Cheyenne and I had a ballet date at Bass Hall. Last Ballet of the 2014-2015 Texas ballet theater season
While we were there, we met up with Amanda (She use to watch the girls for me). I won an extra pair of ballet tickets (it was a Texas Ballet Theater FB contest) and I gave her my tickets, since I already had a pair. I also won tickets to the Botanical Gardens and Japanese Garden...I kept those and plan on taking the family this summer before it gets too hot.
At the Ballet with Cheyenne and Amanda
I'm surprised how much Cheyenne likes going to the ballet and can sit through it without getting fidgety. Typically, the show is about 2 hours long. The intermission and breaks help. She takes a pen and notepad in case she doesn't want to watch parts of the performance. This was the first time, this season, she sat and watched the majority of the show. Going to the ballet is something we look forward to doing together. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in a previous post, but I went ahead and subscribed to another season with Texas Ballet Theater, so that means we'll be going to more shows in the fall and spring. Now, I'd like to look into doing something with Dakota….some one-on-one with her. She's too young for the ballet, right now. If you have any ideas, let me know. I'll be kicking some ideas around.

After the ballet Chey and I drove to Grapevine to meet Dakota and Trey at Great Wolf Lodge! I'll write more about that in the next blog post!

Dakota Day! We Toured the Fire Department.

While Cheyenne was at school, Dakota and I toured the Fire Department. There was a whole group of us from church.

The kids made Valentine Cards for the fire fighters.

My First Guitar was a Flying-V, an Outrageous Costume and a Princess at Work

People recognize Columbus Day? Cheyenne had the day off from school, so we just rocked out all day, you know…
The first electric guitar I had was also a Flying-V. I use to play Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit. Bush - Machine Head and Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm. I wasn't amazing, but I wasn't awful.

Last night, was the Ladies Night Halloween Party. Guess who won best costume?

This past weekend I was consumed with editing, Dakota would check-up on me every now and then. It's like every time she'd visit with me, she was either wearing a new outfit or streaking (no diaper)…she has decided to give potty-training another go…She's doing ok.
Oh, I'm still loving my new office and computer. It really is a great space to work.

Easter Sunday & Going Out to Eat Was a Real Treat!

I missed three days of work, last week. The girls were sick for a few days.
I'm extremely thankful for sick time and benefits. The girls are healthy, now. PTL.
Sick kids
I was praying that they'd be well enough to go to Church, by Easter Sunday. They both had GI issues, but thankfully, by Sunday they were feeling ok, so off we went.
Easter Sunday
This year, I didn't get the girls new Easter dresses. Actually, the dress that Chey wore last year still fit her and Dakota wore a hand me down dress from Chey. The dress I wore is a GAP dress. I've had it since high school. I'm surprised it's not a dingy white.
Easter Sunday 2014
The girls didn't notice the not so new fashion, I didn't mind and everyone seemed happy.

Afterwards, we went to Fudd's, which was a wonderful treat! Especially, for me since I was at home for the majority of the week. I needed to get out! Another reason why going out was a real treat is because we've been cutting down on our entertainment and eating out fund. So, going out to eat these days is a big deal (for me).

The rest of the day, we stayed in...we played with the girls, I edited photos I took during church and we just enjoyed the down time.

I Like to Party with These People

Here are a whole lot of pictures from our (family) Sunday School Christmas Party. These people are pretty neat, if you ask me.

Can we talk about how cute this couple is??? Seriously! And Jessica is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. She also gives the best hugs!

So, that was just a few faces from our Sunday school class. There were more faces, wondering about, but you know, not everyone is photogenic. I KNOW, Crazy, right??? If your last name is Anderson, you don't have an option. :)

I can't leave this post without including the cutest picture of the bunch.

My Week in Photos

Dakota has had a better week, much better than last week. She is officially weaned and happy as a clam. I'm not gonna lie, I kind of miss breastfeeding, but at the same time I'm enjoying my freedom of not having a baby latched to me. I still feel like Dakota and I have a strong bond, but I know now, that her relationship with Daddy will really start to blossom. I feel like she's been all mine for 17 months and now, I get to share her. Does that sound weird? I think other mom's know what I'm talking about.

Sometimes, Chey lets Dakota get away with too much. And as you see here, sometimes, Dakota likes to push her limits. She's like, "How much can I get away with this time?"

We are still taking Chey to AWANA every week. This Wednesday was family game night and a special focus on being thankful.
Untitled
Thankful leaves. Makenna wrote "friend Chey" on her leaf. How sweet is that????

My Week in Photos

This past week, my weekly training was right on target, but my long run was not as long as I wanted it to be. I'm hoping to have a better long run weekend, coming up. Thursday, I added cross training to my schedule. In addition to running, I rode a few miles on the bike and 3 miles on rowing machine.

My Week in Photos the late edition:
Last week, was ladies night out. My sister, Natasha won this handmade wreath. It was a door prize drawing. Instead of taking it and hanging it at her apartment, she let me borrow it. It's sooo massive.

I took "my  famous" banana pudding to share with the ladies. We had leftovers. Tasha help me buckle it in the car. We wanted to make sure it got home, safe to Trey. Sad thing is, he never got any -- we ate it before he could eat the leftovers. Sorry. I made him another batch this week, so he would stop crying.

We are getting so close to Halloween. We thought it was time to bust out Halloween clothes that Nana got us.

Jubilee of Tables 2014

Every year, the women's ministry at my church, hold an event where we worship, learn, fellowship, eat, and sit at beautifully decorated tables. This is my third year to take photos for Jubilee. Last year, I helped decorate a table, but this was my first year to really take on a lead role. I decided to go with a DALLAS COWBOYS theme, which was easy because the only thing I bought speciifcally for this event was the party favors. I put my favorite candy in all the cups. $100 dollars if you can guess correctly. My sister Tasha and friend, Tonya helped me arrange the table.

The reason why there is no silverware is because we don't eat off the pretty plates or use fancy silverware. When the food arrives at the table it's on a clear plastic plate and there is also plasticware. Easy clean-up!

Some people chose to bring their own silverware, show-offs (kidding) :)
2014 Jubilee of Tables
I kind of love this patriotic theme.

Trey asked me if there is an award for best decorated table. There is not. It's all in good fun, no competition.

If Cheyenne was there, I know she would love this table. PINK. When she gets older I can't wait to take her to things like this.

My friend who decorated this table said she bought the bulk of these items on clearance for like -5 dollars or something, ok slight exaggeration, but it was all on major sale.

You guys, we had the most random and funny ladies as entertainers. I don't recall their stage names, but I think I'm going to refer to the lady in the orange as squirrel lady. Erin and Krista "volunteered" to demonstrate some squirrel fashion and decor ideas.

For participating they both walked away with some squirrel swag.

I had so much fun leading up to JOT and during the event. I'm already thinking about next year. Do you have any ideas for a table theme? I'd love to hear them.
