Going the Distance, All the Way to Canada
In 2010, I ran to Green Bay.
In 2011, I ran all the way to CANADA!

If I decided to walk to Canada it would take me 19 days and 21 hours. No, thanks. I'll stick to logging my miles over the course of one year.

I need to start packing a bib for this girl. Typically, she's a clean eater, but not when it comes to spaghetti. And this girl can throw-down some Italian food. This picture was taken during our New Year's Eve dinner at Pizza Inn aka our new favorite place to eat.

Trey's birthday is in a few weeks. We walked the aisles of Academy and he pointed out items he would like. I think he was joking when he pointed out football gear. Right? He was joking, I think.

Cheyenne got a few color books for Christmas, so we've been spending quality time coloring in the evenings. Coloring is so therapeutic. She has the cheap-o crayons and a few name brand ones. I can tell a huge difference between the two. I know one of my resolutions is to buy more off brand items, but I think I'm going to have to make an exception, when it's time to replenish her crayons.

2012: A New Year & New Goals
Happy New Year to you!
Last night, we went to a buffet and I ate, like it was my last meal on earth. I'm actually quite embarrassed about the amount of food I consumed. Oops.
2011 was a great year for the Anderson's. I think the highlight of the year was when we took our first family vacation to Palo Duro. This year, I'm not sure if it will be possible for us to take another trip, since I won't have much vacation time to spare.

2012 Goals
1. Financial Goals
- Pay off the doctor bill before baby arrives. Have $ set aside to pay the hospital bill all at once.
- Cancel Satellite Service when football season ends.
- Buy more off brand/generic items. Cents add up to dollars.
- Add nothing to credit.
- Start saving to build a home gym/Game Room. Trey and I would like to close in the back patio. I don't anticipate starting construction this year, but we would like to start saving for it.

2. Go on a Trip with Trey before I have the Baby
- We already have hotel accommodations taken care of, now it's just a matter of deciding on the date.
3. Run/Bike/Swim 800 Miles this year
- Last year I set a 1,500 distance goal and I surpassed it, covering 1,510 miles. It wasn't easy. This month, I felt like all I was doing was running my butt off. I was so determined to reach my goal I was on a 12 day running streak. If I run today, the streak will continue....
This year, since I'm pregnant and will take several weeks off from physical activity, I think 800 is within reach.
4. Eat Healthy
- One thing I learned from participating in the Paleo 30 day Challenege is that as much as I love the way grains, dairy, and legumes tastes, my body does not react well to them. This year, I will do my best to eat them sparingly and ease my way back into a paleo'ish lifestyle. Did you hear that pregnancy cravings? But trust me, I won't go all paleo natzi.
This was my first meal of 2012...I'm already off to a fantastic start and for lunch we went out with Katy and Chad and I had a chicken salad. Pat on the back --- right here.
5. Spend more time reading Scripture and meditating
-I do best when I have a devotional/guide.
6. Less Snuggle Time with My Snuggie
- Remember that silly Resolution? I said I would spend less time getting cozy with it and more time getting cozy with Trey. Yeah, I need to work on that one...repeat resolution for 2012.
Do you have any goals for 2012?
Trey's mom wants to walk a 5K this spring. That's pretty awesome, if you ask me.
Trey has no goals...he thinks they are silly. Psssh, goals who needs them?

Snuggie Confession-Resolution
Christmas 09 Trey gave me a Dallas Cowboys Snuggie. I didn't ask for a snuggie, I didn't want a snuggie, and honestly I thought they were dumb! But then something happened...I gave it a try and slowly, but surely I fell in love. MADLY.
I promise you, I sleep with that blanket every single night. It's something about the fleece or something that has me. I have a problem. Truth be told (as if I'm not), I think Trey is jealous of it. The snuggie gets more contact with me than he does. Recently, he's told me, "I should've never bought you that snuggie!" I think he's also threaten to burn it. Oh, somebody is mad.
My new years resloution is to spend less time cozying up with my snuggie and spend more time snuggled up to Trey. This photo was taken of me yesterday, cuddled up on the sofa, reading runners world, wrapped in my SNUGGIE.

Making Old Things New
She Looks Good in Black

Yesterday, Trey and I worked on a fabric bulletin board for the mudroom. I used leftover material from the curtains in the living area and I bought the board from our church garage sale, last summer, I think for a dollar. Earlier this week, I bought ribbon which was half off and a set of thumb-tacks. Trey noticed I needed a staple gun, so he went out and bought me one...how nice. The original board had a white and red checker design...it was cute, but it didn't match our decor.
It's nice getting that board out of the closet and on the wall. I'll have to take pictures of the mudroom so you can see. It's part of my new years resolution; organizing. I bought metal decor for placing incoming mail and also a key chain holder. All these little things should help me out and make life a little easier. If all else fails, I can toss everything on the bench. How is that for organization?
While we were finishing the project, Cheyenne was snacking on crackers and noticed we needed some help. I guess she figured she needed to put weight on the board to hold the fabric in place. What a great helper!

Mouthful of Crackers

New Year Resolutions
Happy New Year!
My Resolutions
1. Log 400 miles
2. Get Cheyenne on a consistent schedule
3. Maintain a healthy balance between work and home life
4. Take time out, everyday for myself
Trey's Resolutions
1. Eat more food
2. Log 365 miles (he wants to beat my 212 miles from last year)
3. Teach Cheyenne to walk
Two of those resolutions seem to contradict each other, but whatever. This morning I made a new exercise journal and Trey and I will both use it to jot down our work-outs. I don't write elaborate details, I just write down general info.
Example:
Treadmill 3 miles/45 minutes or Elliptical 60 mins.
It's amazing how a few miles every other day add up fast.
Well, good luck to everyone and their resolutions. I pray that 2009 brings you joy and happiness.

2008: The Year of Cheyenne
2008 has been so good.
The majority of the year I was pregnant and the months flew by, until the very end. Towards the end of pregnancy, the days felt like weeks, but finally Cheyenne arrived. She has completely changed my life. Now I'm a mother, which is taking some time getting use to, but I think I'm doing alright.
As I look forward to 2009, I anticipate another great year.

New Year's Day
Today has been the best way to start off the New Year. For the most part I stayed home and read a book by the fire. Yes, relaxation.
I've been thinking about New Year's resolutions and for once I don't have a list, instead all I can think of is one word, GIVE. This is the year that I feel called to give. I need to give more to others.
Well, good luck to all on your resolutions.

2007: The Year that Exceeded My Expectations
It seems like an eternity ago, but at the beginning of 2007 I felt like a loser with a capital L.
My spirits were high, but I was overwhelmed with frustration. I was frustrated with the job market in Abilene. I remember applying for what seemed like “the greatest job ever.” After I got the rejection phone call, I rushed home, stormed through the door and collapsed on the floor. I wallowed in pity for a good hour or two. That day felt like the worst day of my life. Little did I know that rejection was the best thing that could have happen to me.
Trey and I made a bold decision to put our house on the market and move to Fort Worth, so Trey could advance in his career and I could begin mine. Fort Worth felt like a fresh start, a new beginning and opportunities that Abilene couldn’t offer. I’m not trying to bash Abilene. I love the town, it’s just that it was time for something new. With the move at the forefront of my mind, I began interviewing at UTA for a video position. When I got the phone call to accept, I told my boss, “Thank you. You just made my year.”
Months later I can look back on this year and see how far we’ve come. For me, it’s been more than just landing the sweetest job. I’ve learned it’s about being fulfilled in all things: spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, mentally and financially. The highlights of this year was definitely the job, the move, the house, the financial debt snowball Trey and I are working on, and the joy of enjoying life.
I haven’t come this far to be disappointed now, so I can only expect great things ahead. I’m ready for 2008!

Resolving to Make Changes
2007 will be the year of change. I've made a list of resolutions.
1. To work-out
2. Eat healthy
3. Continue to refrain from sodas
4. Knock out some serious debt (Trey and I want to pay off the house in 5 to 6 years).
5. Challenge myself to continue my education outside of a classroom setting.
6. To be a better wife, neighbor, sister, friend, and worker.
Last year I followed through with most of my resolutions. I joined a gym at the beginning of the year and hit the gym hard until my contract expired. After the membership expired, I continued to find ways to stay active. Previous resolutions included giving up sodas. Okay, I didn’t give them up all together, but “most of the time” I drink water instead. To all of you who are making resolutions I wish you the best.

Shake my Booty
New Year’s was a blast. Amonda cancelled her get-together, so we didn’t’ go there, instead Trey and I went up to The Zone and played pool with his dad and brother. It was nice, but the smoke was killing my eyes. We were there a few hours then we left and met up with my family at Enrique’s. They had a Mexican DJ there, so I danced the New Year in. As soon as we yelled the count-down, Trey and I dashed out to the parking lot because we didn’t want to get hit by a drunk driver. I’m sure Trey and I looked liked the drunks, racing each other to our vehicle. We’re such dorks. So, far my resolution is going well, I’ve worked out several times this week and Trey and I have an appointment with our personal trainer tomorrow. Oh, the pain of fitness.

End of the Year Bonfire
So, last night we went over to Trey's co-workers house and ate smore's over an open fire. It was super nice outside and it reminded me of a few weeks ago when I was in LA. A huge group of us went to the beach and had a bonfire. Good times. Well, like promised, I went and got my gym membership. I'm gonna hit the gym hard this weekend. As far as tonight, I think Amonda is having a get together at her place, but I know for sure we're going to Enrique's. I can't wait. Happy New Year's.

Resolutions & Massive Hogs
I'm so gonna join a gym. I'm going today to sign-up. Besides getting a six pack this year. I'm going to read, sleep, and enjoy life more. I'm really getting an itch to make another short movie. I don't know what it will be about, but I'm going to start brainstorming. Does brainstoming have one or two m's? Who cares. Today we dropped Mr. Bruiser off at the vet. We weighed him and he's massive. The hog weighs 72 lbs. If he keeps this up he'll weigh more than me and that's just not cool. AS it is, I can't even take him walking, Trey has to handle him for me. Even though he's a huge brute and has devilish looks to him, I still love him.
