Craving Warm Weather and Family Time

I thought I'd share a little short film I made of our family at Six Flags. This is actually a new service I'm offering. I'd love for family films to become as mainstream as family portraits. Wishful thinking, but wouldn't that be wonderful? Can you imagine how wonderful it will be for the girls to have all these short films to look back on when they are adults? I'm not talking about static portraits, I'm talking about excitement you can see in motion! I showed the girls this film and I promise, Dakota watched it at least 10 times. Finally, I had to say, "Ok, that's enough."

Dakota wants to know when we will be going back. Now, I'm hungry for weekends and warmer weather. Dakota can ride a lot of the rides in the kid area, as long as I ride with her. Trey gets motion sickness on small rides, so I'm the parent who gets to have all the fun.

Spring Break at Six Flags

Trey took the day off and we spent a few hours at Six Flags. We had lunch there and the girls rode about 6 rides. The rest of the time, the played on the jungle gym. It was sprinkling when we got there, but about 30 minutes later, it stopped. We have season passes and I'm looking forward to going more often, when Cheyenne is out of school. We also have season passes to Hurricane Harbor! Is summer here, yet?

Afterwards, we went out to dinner at Olive Garden. Now, we are relaxing at home. Have a great weekend!

Season Passes (Because One Season of Fun Was Not Enough)

Last year, we had season passes to Six Flags. Amanda and her family told us they were renewing theirs, so we decided to join them. We got a pretty good deal - our passes are good for this 2014 season through next year. We also got the Hurricane Harbor, combo pass.

My fall wedding calendar is filling up! It's an incredible blessing. Since my first fall wedding is quickly approaching, I'm trying to make the most of family time, now before my weekends are filled with wedding ceremonies, receptions and long editing sessions.

Next weekend we're going to Hurricane Harbor.

Labor Day 2013

It was raining for several hours while we were at the park, but around 1:30 pm, the sun started to shine bright. The foot traffic was pretty low, so we didn't have to wait long to ride rides.

We all had an exhaustingly fun time.

I took my Nike+ Watch to Six Flags. How Many Miles Did I Walk?

I had an excellent run week and even had a chance to focus on weight training and core. After two back to back long runs, I noticed that today my hip (on the left side) is feeling tender. I should be okay to run tomorrow -- I'm thinking I will slow down my pace tomorrow. Today, is a rest from running. I'll either rest all together or I might do the elliptical or weights.

Have you ever wondered how many miles you walk over the course of a day at an amusement park?
Six Flags Ride
Well, yesterday when we were at the park I activated my GPS watch. By the end of the day, we walked 3.7 miles. I paused my watch while we were sitting or waiting or at least when I remembered to. We didn't spend the entire day out there, we were only there maybe 5 hours.

Sunday Funday at Six Flags

This morning, we went to church and afterwards went to Six Flags. We ate lunch out there and also, rode a few rides.

I think Sunday's are my favorite days to go. The park doesn't seem as crowded.
Cheyenne drove us around in a car...

And I rode shotgun to document the event.

Dakota and I shared a tall cup of ice water. That's how we stayed cool. The high today was 91 degrees.

When the Kids are Away the Big Kids Play & One More Ballet Clip

Yesterday morning, we waved goodbye to the girls ( they are in Abilene visiting with grandparents for a week). As soon as they left, Trey and I drove to Arlington and spent the day at Six Flags.

Oh, here is that ballet performance I was talking about....It's a short clip.

Amusement Park Snapshots

This morning, Dakota and I dropped the kids off at Six Flags. Trey, Angelica and Cheyenne spent the morning and afternoon at the park, while Dakota and I ran errands and (I) worked from home..Dakota supervised and helped me stay on track.

I'm buried in editing and I have several deadlines coming up, so Trey taking the girls to the amusement park was a huge help. Dakota and I caught up with them around 5 pm. I rode a few rides and ate dinner out there too.

Here are a few snapshots from several rides.

My favorite...Cheyenne's expression is priceless!

They stood in line for an hour and a half to ride this ride. Crazy. The other lines, for other rides were not that long.

We have season passes, so let's all go to Six Flag every weekend. Six Flags
We took the ford focus....don't ask me how Trey got the baby jogger/stroller in the trunk. I have no idea. I tried once and never tried again.

Expect to see more pictures throught the summer of six flags. If you want to go with us, let me know...we have a book of discounted ticket prices so we can take guests!!!

Weekend in Arlington

Here are some pictures from Six Flags. Six Flags
We took turns watching Cheyenne, so we all had an opportunity to ride the rides. The best ride out there is The Titan. I didn't want to ride it, but Justin insisted and now it's my favorite.

Cheyenne relaxing in the stroller. We took her carrier too, so if she wanted to nap, she could. The entire time we were out there, she only took a 45 minute nap. She was really into watching the people. She was talking and squealing the whole time.

And Friday evening, shortly after I got off of work we went to the Texas Rangers game with Tim.

We went to the observing deck to get a view of the Cowboys stadium.

Texas Chutes

Here is a video clip of Natasha and I at Six Flags. She was freaking out on this ride.

Well, I put Cheyenne in bed for the night and she is out! If I'm lucky maybe she'll sleep in past 8 am.
