Cheyenne's First Day of First Grade

"I'm nervous-excited!" That's what Cheyenne told me this morning. She loves school. I can't wait to hear all about her first day.

Happy Birthday Dakota Bear

This little girl is three, today! Before taking her to Rosa's house, we took her out to her food place of choice. She picked Chick-Fil-A.
Dakota is 3 years old happy birthday!
Last night, we took portraits on the front lawn. Dakota was upset because her crown kept slipping.

Once we got it situated on her head, she was all smiles. Diva!

These girls, make life better.

Our plan for this evening:
I'm going to bake a cake before the girls get home and then once it cools, I'm going to let them ice it. Things are probably going to get messy, but I know they will love eating and icing the cake.

Happy Birthday, Sweet Dakota!
Here are the things I love the most about you...
Your outgoing personality.
How you can strike up a conversation with anyone.
How confident you are in yourself.
How you are not afraid to speak your mind.
Your kindness.
Happy 3rd Birthday Dakota

Sock Hop: Daddy Daughter Date Night Edition

Trey's mom and Maghen made the girls new poodle skirts. They are too cute!

Trey took the girls out on a date! I was planning on going for a short run while they were out, but then it started to rain outside. I might still go, if it stops or I might run on the treadmill.

I Got All Crafty: Sock Hop

Tonight, I took the girls to a Sock Hop at Cheyenne's school.
None, of our friends had a poodle skirt she could borrow, so I decided to make her one.

This is probably a one-time wear skirt. It looks put together and cute, but it will most likely fall apart at the waist, if she sneezes. We managed to make it through the night, so perhaps -- it's a 2 day old skirt?

Cheyenne is so kind. She told me I have the best fashion skills and she said it like she meant it.
She also kept twirling around. I mean who would want to twirl in a poddle skirt?

P.S. Dakota kept using her Frozen superpowers to freeze me. Dakota had a ball dancing! After the sock hop, we went out with friends for dinner. I'm going to see if maybe my mom can make the girls real poodle skirts, that they can wear longer than 5 hours.

Snow Day in February

This morning, when I took cheyenne to school it was snowing. It was pretty steady. It continued until about 2 pm. Like many parents today, in the area...we decided to pull Cheyenne out of school early. This is what our afternoon looked like. This is our third snow day this week!

I'm hoping the weather drys up before Sunday's big Cowtown Ultra Marathon. A few hours ago, they announced Saturday races have been cancelled due to weather. Here's to hoping Sunday will be nice!

Cheyenne's First Day of Kindergarten

Last night, Chey had the hardest time going to bed, she was simply too excited to start her first day of school.

Trey and I sent her off to school early this morning. She had butterflies and her tummy. When I told her I might cry, she said she was going to cry too...but she said -- happy tears. Sending her off to school is a huge deal! When I left her classroom, I only went back once to tell her bye, one last time. She'll be fine. I can't believe this our life, now. For those who have been following the blog since her birth, you've watched her grow up too! Remember that little NICU baby? Look at her now...

Easter Sunday & Going Out to Eat Was a Real Treat!

I missed three days of work, last week. The girls were sick for a few days.
I'm extremely thankful for sick time and benefits. The girls are healthy, now. PTL.
Sick kids
I was praying that they'd be well enough to go to Church, by Easter Sunday. They both had GI issues, but thankfully, by Sunday they were feeling ok, so off we went.
Easter Sunday
This year, I didn't get the girls new Easter dresses. Actually, the dress that Chey wore last year still fit her and Dakota wore a hand me down dress from Chey. The dress I wore is a GAP dress. I've had it since high school. I'm surprised it's not a dingy white.
Easter Sunday 2014
The girls didn't notice the not so new fashion, I didn't mind and everyone seemed happy.

Afterwards, we went to Fudd's, which was a wonderful treat! Especially, for me since I was at home for the majority of the week. I needed to get out! Another reason why going out was a real treat is because we've been cutting down on our entertainment and eating out fund. So, going out to eat these days is a big deal (for me).
Dakota at Fudd's
The rest of the day, we stayed in...we played with the girls, I edited photos I took during church and we just enjoyed the down time.

P.S. Here's an throwback of Chey and I (EASTER 2009). Easter Sunday

We have a new car

We have a new car sitting in our garage and it's pink.
Barbie Jeep
Cheyenne is a wild driver, so Trey used his belt to strap dakota in. I thought it was strange that it did not have seat belts..
Barbie Jeep
Later, I'll post video of Chey's crazy driving.
Barbie Jeep
Dakota was like, I better not fall out of this!
Barbie Jeep
Dakota loves it when Chey hits the gas and brakes abruptly. Chey is the driver and Dakota is in charge of the radio.

Yesterday, the girls played outside for over an hour. Bella was scared and covered her eyes.

My 11 year old niece thought it would be cool to drive.

When you were a kid, did you have a motorized car? I always wanted one of these when I was a kid.

My Week in Photos

Her Father had something to do with this outfit. Her Kind of Fashion
The girls and I went for a walk, earlier this week. To be honest, it was quite miserable. It was 98 degrees. Yuck! If it's above 90, just stay inside. Ha! Really.
  Summer Walk A Hot One!
It kind of made me wish we had a pool. Well, I'm thankful for neighbors who let us swim in theirs.
First Dip of the Season
Lately, Dakota has been obsessed with the remote control. If it's in sight, she has to have it. It makes it very challenging when I want to surf channels.
Go to Sleep Dakota! LOL!
Do you want to know what I've enjoyed this week? Getting to take my lunch break twice this week, with my girls. Dakota was over there eating a cheese stick. She's getting really good at feeding herself. Actually, she prefers to feed herself and it gets really messy. It almost makes me wish we had a dog. You know to clean the floor....but the hair and responsibility-- one day we'll get a family dog, but not now.
The Girls on Campus
I got some good news in the mail this week...Here is the story highlighted on UTA News Center.

Week in Photos

We no longer cut our yard, we hire a local business to maintain it. They don't bag the grass clippings for our yard, so when I requested a bag for my compost bin (from the company), I was told one would be left on my yard (from the company from another clients house). Keep in mind the request was for one bag... this is what was left on my side yard. 10 bags of grass! I think my compost is going to have plenty of grass.

Shout out to Trey for putting air in my tires. I'm 28 years old and I've never put air in my own tires, perhaps it's time I learn.

My Week in Photos

This girl can sleep through anything, even this -- Why don't you slide?
Front patio view. Tranquil. Peaceful.

This is me trying to get organized before returning to work. I cleaned the panty top to bottom. Monday, I'll work on the restrooms. I'm not looking forward to that.
Organized Pantry
When I finished a run, earlier in the week, I walked through this place. It's new construction, not too far from me. 5 bedrooms. 3 baths. How much you want to bet it's just a couple who will occupy this house??? You never know. There are only two people living in the mansion behind my house.
New Construction in the neighborhood. 5 rooms. 3 baths.
American Girl is really American China??? I'm so confused.
I will try to look pass that, only because the doll is so cute. I want an American Girl Doll too and I want her to look like me. That wouldn't be weird, an adult woman walking around with a doll. I don't think so. Soooooo....
American Girl is American China?? I'm so confused.

I recognize those teeth marks. Cheyenne is such a snacker. If I'd let her eat all day, she would.

Every time I think yoga is easy, I do it and I'm quickly reminded it's no joke. Lululemon offered a free yoga class this morning, so I dusted off my mat and hit it. It was a slow vinyasa flow, which for me translated to slow BURN. The instructor encouraged us to keep our eyes closed for the majority of the workout. Do you know how hard it is to keep your balance when you're in airplane??? I cheated  multiple times and opened my eyes, so I wouldn't fall on my face.
Lulu yoga!
We got a new toy for the whole family to enjoy. I don't know what I think about the kindle fire. So, far it's been kind of quirky. Some of the apps just quit randomly and the Netflix app was starting and stopping movies, when it was in play mode. Maybe it was just the wi-fi connection, I don't know. It's still pretty new to me, so I'm going to play with it more, before I pass judgement. Also, how do I create folders? My apps are everywhere and not organized and it's driving me crazy!
