Dakota's 4th Birthday!

Saturday, we celebrated Cheyenne's birthday at Main Event.
We decided to have a little get together. Cheyenne wanted to invite 3 girls from school and luckily all three were available to attend. We had a blast!

This little girl is three, today! Before taking her to Rosa's house, we took her out to her food place of choice. She picked Chick-Fil-A.

Last night, we took portraits on the front lawn. Dakota was upset because her crown kept slipping.

Once we got it situated on her head, she was all smiles. Diva!

These girls, make life better.

Our plan for this evening:
I'm going to bake a cake before the girls get home and then once it cools, I'm going to let them ice it. Things are probably going to get messy, but I know they will love eating and icing the cake.

Not Fair and A Birthday

It's not fair that Trey had lunch with my Mom today, while I was at work.

Well, my day got better when I face chatted with my sister and her babies. They were showing Cheyenne her gifts.

Cheyenne's birthday is tomorrow. Today, I sent cupcakes to her class.
She loved all the attention.

Last week, we celebrated Angelica's birthday at our house. She is 12 years old. We had her birthday party on a weeknight. So, I went all out and made cupcakes from scratch, you know...

Dakota's 2nd Birthday Party at Chick fil A

This weekend we celebrated Dakota's birthday at Chick Fil A.
The girls love the food and playing there, so having the party there - made sense for us. Also, no clean up for mommy. WIN!

The birthday girl...

When she was presented with a cupcake and candles she knew exactly what to do.

She's only 2 years old, but it's like she knew it was her special party. She was thrilled to be the center of  attention.

We invited a few friends and Trey's parents drove from Abilene to join us. It was a nice surprise seeing them. While Dad was in town, I gave him his Father's Day gift. Red wine and coconut flavored almonds. Trey is going to get a wallet. I'm going to let him pick it because I want him to have exactly what he wants.

Dakota appreciated the cards. She lisented carefully as Nana read them to her.

The best part of the party was playtime!

FYI - Dakota dressed herself…PJs and a colorful tutu.

The kids weren't the only ones to have fun. Krista my coffee date buddy was there too. Ahhh, I love this girl.

Two years flew by...

Today, Mrs. Rosa made Dakota birthday cake and when Trey and I got off of work, we took the girls to Fudd's for burgers and then we went to the Disney Store.
The girls are spending the week with Mrs. Rosa, since Amanda is on vacation.

We bought both girls something from the Disney Store. Chey picked a pair of frozen boots (like Anna) and Dakota got a little Anna doll. Isn't she cute??? I want one too.

The Girls Iced Me a Cake

For my birthday, the girls bought a pre-made cake and iced it for me.
30 candles for 30 years.

My 30th Birthday

Yesterday, I celebrated my 30th birthday. My co-workers took me to Mellow Mushroom for lunch. Yum! They also gave me a gift card to a resturant, which I'm really looking forward to using!
It was so nice reading over all the birthday wishes from friends and family. Thank you!!!

Today, I have something else to celebrate…It's my 7 year work anniversary.
I'm thankful to be where I am and surrounded by the people I work with.

One Day We Will Grow-Up

Having kids is a great excuse to do silly things like play at Pump it Up.

One of these days, we'll grow-up, but no promises. Trey raced our neighbor through an obstacle course. Guess who won?

Trey lost twice, but he still managed to have a great time.

What are your plans this weekend? 
-We have a fun night scheduled at AT&T Stadium.
- I plan on running long, at some point, probably before Sunday - since we may get snow. Two weekends ago, I ran 19 miles. Last week, I took a mini long-run vacation, but this week, I'd like to get back to it.
- Church
- Super Bowl !!!!!! I predict Denver will win. 
- Maybe trying a new recipe

Birthday Party at Mine By Design in Abilene

Saturday morning, we celebrated Brianna's 5th birthday party in Abilene. The Party was at Mine by Design - It's a painting/pottery studio.

The studio was so colorful. I loved it!

Chey picked a mug to paint.   
While the big kids were painting, Dakota walked around wearing an apron...

or in her case, an over-sized bib. She was eating applesauce.



It was another great day trip to Abilene. While I was in town, I picked up gifts from both sides of the family. Based on how many gifts are already under our tree…the girls were good this year.

Later that night, we went to Prairie Lights with Drew, Amanda and family. We all piled into there SUV, kids and all. The wait to get in the park was 2 hours long! I'm glad I was in good company and it made the lights and wait, worth it.

We Have a Five Year Old & Trey's Eye Surgery

A baby named Cheyenne has grown right before our eyes…

You've seen her either in person or in pictures (via the blog), through the years...

She has grown, so fast.
 
Now, she is a vibrant 5 year old!

 Today, when she asked for candy for breakfast I said, YES!!!!!!
We let her pick the restaurant we ate at for lunch. When she had a sopapilla and ICE CREAM, I cheered her on. And now, it's 9:30 pm and she's still awake watching TV….because today is her special day.

Yesterday, Trey had eye surgery. This was his second/final round. If you recall, he had bad cataracts, but now that has been corrected on both of his eyes. 20/20 vision is in his immediate future! He was in pain yesterday, but today he is doing better. Around noon, I took him to his post-op exam and the doctor is pleased at how fast his eye is healing. Trey said, before his eye-sight was standard definition and now he can see in HD…and to think it's only going to get better, once both of his eyes completely heal.

Cheyenne's 5th Birthday Party at Flight Deck Pt 1 of 2

Today we celebrated Cheyenne's 5th birthday party at Flight Deck Trampoline Park. This was our first experience at the park. Trampoline Jumping is some serious exercise!

Chey's favorite babysitting couple aka Trey's co-worker Chris - Chris & Kirsten

Dakota has been a cranky mess all week, but being out at the park actually helped her mood.    It was also nice for me, having extra helping hands, so when she grew tired of me, I could literally hand her off. I know I said I was weaning her a few weeks ago (that didn't happen), this is our first full week of weaning and she's having a terrible time accepting that, she's not quitting without a fight. So, that on top of teething is not pleasant.

Some of our family and friends drove-in from Abilene, we appreciate you and you totally made Chey's and my weekend. Mom helped with the goodie bags. She's so good at putting things like that together, everyone was very impressed.
