My Week in Photos

I have new bakeware! I bought two pans from Sam's Club for $10 bucks, that's so cheap and they are restaurant quality!

And Dakota was like, I can do one too!

In case you didn't know Dakota has a few teeth. image
For the first time ever this happened. This is a result of Amanda and I texting each other a bazillion times everyday. Trey and I recently updated phones. I got an iPhone 5s, this is my first upgrade in like 3 years. With the upgrade, we went ahead and went with an unlimited text plan. Hopefully, that kicks in soon. I took this image, when I was on my old phone.

Tomorrow, I'm running a trail race, I'll be running 31 miles! Yikes!!!!
Ok, that's all I have. Have a great weekend!

No Hurry to Walk, Video Chatting & Weekday Date Night

I'm really missing my girls, today. They've been in Abilene since, Monday.
Earlier this week, before the girls left town, I took a few photos of Dakota.
Dakota Sky
She is 69 weeks which is 15.8689 months old <<<------- yes, I just googled that.
Dakota is 69 weeks
"By now, most children are walking fairly well." I'm still waiting for Dakota to take her first steps, on her own. During her last appt. the doctor didn't seem too concerned. He said, if she hasn't started walking by 18 months, if I wanted, he would recommend a specialist. The specialist would come to our home and observe Dakota in her own environment and I guess see what's wrong with me? Haha. I don't know. I don't think, it will get to that point. She's just taking her sweet time with the walking thing.
Dakota Sky
Most kids start walking by 12 - 14 months....or at least that's what I've read.

Have you ever video chatted with a toddler? I almost lost my dinner. Cheyenne was running all over the place with the phone in hand. Think blair witch project.
FaceTime with Cheyenne
Remember when I had to teach Chey how to take a proper selfie? I might have to teach her how to properly conduct a video chat.

Last night, Trey and I took advantage of the girls being out of town. We went to The Keg, my treat! Date Night at The Keg

Would You Do This to Your Phone? & Pool Fund

An iPhone Dunked under water...yikes!
Trey got a life proof phone case and I guess he's so confident that it works that he submerged his phone underwater. Now, I just want to take photos and videos in the pool.

What have you been up to?
Well, I finally decided to update my website and list some of my prices. Here is the link if you want to contribute to my pool fund. haha! We are kind of getting serious about this pool idea.

Distracted by Devices

Trey's parents came into town for a short day trip. We met-up for lunch and then we just spent time visiting at the house. We sat next to each other and texted each other the entire time.
Distracted with Devices
Even Ella, Cheyenne's doll, participated.
I'm just kidding, about the texting, but I thought this moment was worth capturing.

It seems like every time, the in-laws come to town we eat at Chuy's. I'm okay with that!

My Week in Photos

Dakota didn't get the memo, that today is her due date. She's slow cooking and apparently she's in no rush to come out. Dang, my womb must be like a hot spot condo or something. Maybe, it's better than beachfront property.

Well, I'm so glad I didn't invest my hopes in what my doctor predicted, "I think you will deliver as early as 10 days before your due date." Yeah, right.

Here is a text convo between Trey and I.  FYI: C 30 = a 30 second contraction.

Perhaps, I mentioned taking it easy and not exercising, this week. You could say I'm getting impatient, so I walked 2 miles last night, hoping to naturally induce Dakota out of my body. It wasn't all sweat and hard work --- to balance things out, afterwards, I immediately drove to the store and bought cookies.
5 days until my due date. Let's get this party started.
While Trey and I have been working, Cheyenne has been vacationing in Abilene. I'm so jealous! I also miss her, a lot!

I finally got around to trying the Keurig herbal tea sample. I wouldn't recommend it, but for free, I'd drink it all day. By the way, if you have a Keurig Vue, bed bath and beyond has the mother load of Vue Cups.
Make me Sleepy
A few weeks ago, I used a promo code and order cups directly from Keurig's site. I'm not impressed with the mocha, I prefer the vanilla latte.

Do you eat fish? I do, but it's not my first option. Earlier in the week, I put off grocery shopping until there was nothing left to eat except for fish. Now, that we're going into the weekend, I will put off grocery shopping again. Who knows when this baby will come and I don't want my produce to spoil.
Fish, veggies and fresh herbs for lunch.
What are your plans for the weekend?
Me, ohhhhh I plan on having a baby. If I'm not in labor, I think Trey and I may try to go out on a date tonight. That is, if he doesn't have to work late. The last two nights he has been working around the clock. All the overtime will be good, but he is beyond exhausted.

"This Must Be Your Second Child"

Alright, I'm in my 3rd trimester and I barely downloaded a few Pregnancy apps.
I know what you're thinking: this must be your second child....

I downloaded, what to expect and I also downloaded a contractions counter app. Trey is on call this weekend and for that reason alone, he's hoping I go into labor soon. Somebody doesn't want to work....
Pregnancy Snapshot, Today
It seems like everyone wants the baby here early, but I'm okay if she keeps cooking for a few more weeks. Check back when I'm 40 weeks, I'm sure my tune will change. GET HER OUT! In the meantime, I will sleep. Speaking of sleep, I have been getting the best nights rest this past week. Shouldn't I feel uncomfortable and miserable? I'm so confused. The only time I'm really uncomfortable is when I shift my position, but once I shift once or twice a night, I immediately fall back asleep.

Last week, I took Trey's advice about taking it easy. SEE my DailyMile Stats? This is kind of a big deal for me.
DailyMile
I'm a normal person -- sleeping in, hitting the snooze button a million times, coming home after work and zoning out in front of the tube, while eating chocolate. It's been fun! I kind of love it! Taking time off, has really helped relieve the pelvic pressure I was experiencing. I'm still achy, but it's not old lady achy, it's just pregnant achy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trey is not a domestic creature. I cook every meal that we eat at home. I don't like eating out during the work week, but then again I'm not exactly excited to come home after a 10 hr work day and make dinner.  Really, my 10 hour days are more like 12 hour work days, once you consider commute and all.

Last night, when I picked Cheyenne up, Erin had made Calzone's for her family and sent 3 massive calzones home with me. You guys, she's spoiling me!!!! Oh, my goodness they were amazing! They were stuffed with turkey, cheese, and broccoli. Yum.

Last night, it was just Chey and I at the dinner table. Trey has been working longer hours. We miss him, but we understand this is his busy season. I would say we'll see him this weekend, but since he's on call, we may not get to see him. You never know though. Some weekends are light and some are non-stop....

Something You Might Not Know About Trey...

Cary Services, Dallas-Ft Worth branch, was highlighted in this months company newsletter. Do you remember the team photo I took of all the guys, way back when? (blog post here). Well, it was featured on the front page.

Also in the newsletter, was a little bio/information column about Trey. I thought I'd share it with you guys. Maybe you'll learn something new about him.
Work Newsletter Info of Trey
Most favorite season: Winter because work is more relaxed.
Least favorite season: Summer because work is CRAZY --- BUSY!!!!!

Cell Phone Etiquette
This article was also in the newsletter about Cell Phone Etiquette. What are some of your cell phone do's and don'ts? I can tell you right now, my  biggest cell phone pet peeve is when girls are in a public bathroom and they decide to have a phone conversation. RUDE & GROSS!

Trey is guilty of the first one mentioned....
I'm sure I'm guilty of the third one....

Sunday Family Time
This evening, Trey took Cheyenne on a bike ride, while I tagged along on foot, running alongside. I spent the rest of the evening getting ready for the work week: 5 loads of laundry, lunches, shopping, and cleaning. I usually have Monday's off, but tomorrow I'll be busy with a special video production. It's going to be a BIG day, for me. A video I've been working on for about 12 weeks will be previewed in front of a large crowd (a few hundred people). I will also be filming during that lunch event. -- So say a prayer for me. Thanks!

I Totally Passed Out

What happened last night? I passed out around 9:30 pm. I'm pretty sure, I slept for 20 hours, I feel amazing! I had started this post last night, so here it is, this morning....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looks like we're still celebrating Trey's birthday. Chey and I made him a birthday cake. It's a strawberry cake, a recipe his grandmother makes. It's one of his favorites. The last time we made this cake was back in 2008. Trey and Cheyenne loved it. It's a little too sweet for me, but still tasty in small quantities.
Birthday Cake for Trey
Do you guys FaceTime or Skype with relatives who live away?
We do. We FaceTimed with Trey's mom. She was showing us some Care Bears she bought for Cheyenne.
FaceTime with Nana
I'm so jealous! Remember my generic childhood Care Bear?
Cheyenne with my Childhood Teddy Bear
Right now, Chey is really into Care Bears. We found a few CB movies on Netflix and this has made my child unbelievably happy.

Oh, on a side note, Trey called me Friday and said he found out the iPhone is not fireproof. WHAT?! Something about he was working on a ladder, explosion, fire/flames, him leaping off the ladder....ends up his phone caught on fire, while he was working on a unit and now has an imprint and crack on it. It still works, but I'm sure it's annoying seeing a crack on his phone.
FaceTime with Nana
This morning (Saturday), I went for a 10 mile run on the trail. Around mile 6, I needed to use the bathroom, but I was a mile away from the porta potty. That mile was the longest mile of my life! Ugh! The PG version thoughts that were going through my head: Don't crap yourself! Don't crap yourself! Don't do it!" I made it safely to the bathroom and no one was harmed.
Long distance runners know what I'm talking about, we all have our storieSSSS (plural).
10 Mile long Run
Oh, last night we had a family date night and I finally tried the protein style burger from In-N-Out. Holy Goodness! It was the best! I got the single patty, but next time I'm probably going to double it. For you health councious readers, I think the double patty is around 500 calories. I didn't take a picture, but I found an online pic. This is what a protein style burger looks like. source. There fries are also tasty. :) Our family date was only $13.15.

Star Light, Star Bright: Christmas Performance

Even though, I could not attend Cheyenne's Christmas Performance, Trey did a fantastic job - capturing stills and video.
 Christmas Performance at School
During a break, I texted Trey, to see how things were going.
Christmas Performance Text
It's true, she was wearing a Valentine t-shirt. Oops, but it's one of the few red items she owns. Here is a cute video of all the kids singing.

Notice the carpet that all the kids stood on. That's a neat idea.

After a long day of work, Trey suggested we go out for dinner at a nearby Italian Resturant. Good idea!

Burnt Ice Cream & Cracked iPhone

Yesterday, I planned on meeting a friend at Yogurtland, but she totally forgot. What's up with that? She felt terrible, sooooo we're still friends. Chey and I were already in route to meet her, when I got the news she wouldn't be there--- Trey called to tell me he got off of work a little early, so we decided to meet for dessert with him. WIN.

The Mini Blizzard is just my size. Too bad it didn't taste right. It had a weird burnt after-taste. I'm going to blame it on the pregnancy. There is a growing list of foods that don't taste the same, now that I'm pregnant. Weird, I know, but it's even more annoying.
  Mini Blizzard from Dairy Queen
This man loves Dairy Queen. I think his soul purpose in life is to eat at every Dairy Queen in the state of Texas. Every small town we drive through, he tells me, "I've ate at that one. At that one. And that one. OH, that's one I haven't bee too, I need to make sure and stop there." Ice cream isn't my thing, but it's alright every now and then.
Enjoy Some Ice Cream at Dairy Queen
A few hours before we met, he cracked his iPhone. He even had it in the Defender OtterBox and the glass, still cracked. If this was my phone, there would've been tears.
Trey's iPhone Cracked Screen
Do you have a heavy duty phone case? I've damaged to many iPhones. I don't trust myself with an uncased phone. My iPhone is rarely out of its OtterBox. When I purchased it, the phone went from iPhone box to heavy duty protective case. I guess, this proves, not even the OtterBox is invincible.

Trey has an appointment at the Apple store, so we'll find out in a few days what they can do for him. This is his company phone. The good thing is, the phone still works.

My History with Apple. RIP Jobs. iSad.

As you've all heard by now, Steve Job's passed away. I read the news on my iPhone via Twitter. I'm sure many heard the news from an Apple device: iPad, iPhone, MacBook, iMac...The news, of his death is so sad. I knew he was sick, but he just retired and this is right after the iPhone 4S announcement. So sad.

My History with Apple

I was 16 when I decided I wanted to purse filmmaking. A high school friend blessed me with a used Sony  Hi-8 camcorder. I attempted to edit my short films on windows PC. I used and abused that machine, trying to make it my editing hub. After a few months, the PC had enough and wanted out, so it EXPLODED -- literally. I was editing short film featuring my little sister and the machine made a loud popping noise and a cloud of smoke erupted from the CPU. So, it was like a mini-explosion, but I prefer to say it EXPLODED because it sounds more dramatic.

My Senior year of high school, while attending Upward Bound. The director let me check out the programs iBook (claim shell). I was assigned to head-up the end of the year program video. One of my first video assignments! I was up for the challenge. I learned the in and outs of working on a Mac that summer.

Freshmen year of college, I knew I wanted to major in Electronic Media. I was not wishy-washy, I knew what I wanted and I stuck with it. That year, I made the biggest purchase, up to that point, in my life. I dropped one G on an Apple iBook G3 and everything changed. Ever since then, I've been an Apple fan girl.

I use apple products everyday. During pre-production, video production, post-production.
Setting up office at Home. It just so happens the TV is in front of me.
Oh, and I also use Apple products outside the office---EVERYDAY. EVERY HOUR.
Twitter App
So, does my family.
Cutting the song with a little help.
Apple products make my life easier and make me look like a video editing prodigy No? Just a few awards, that's all.
6 @tellyawards arrived. It's almost embarrassing.
I've received amazing customer service from Apple. Here is a previous post from 2006!!! Serious, College Flashback! http://domandtrey.blogspot.com/2006/03/god-bless-apple.html

Thanks, Steve Jobs for being so innovative. RIP. You were the leonardo da vinci of our time!
