Two Things I'm Loving

#1 Ona Brixton Leather Camera Bag
Isn't it lovely? It has 3 slots for a camera and lenses. It even fits my 70-200mm lens. Dakota is impressed!

I like to call it my sexy bag.


For the past two years I've been using the Kelly Moore Posey2, (that particular bag has been discontinued). I still use it for everyday use, but I wanted a bigger bag and better quality. I'm so pleased with the ONA Brixton.

#2 Braids
Rosa, the girls childcare provider, loves braiding the girls hair. Several times a week, they come home with the cutest braids.

I Colored My Own Hair

Not too long ago, I highlighted my own hair. It's was my first time to do it by myself, so considering that I did it and it was my first time I think it looked great! Not professional awesome, but good enough for this girl.

Well, since my roots were starting to show, I decided I wanted to go lighter with a complete hair dye - not just highlights. I bought this box from Garnier Olia, hoping that I would get the same results as the box. That strand of hair on the box is what my hair looked like before I dyed it.

Well, here is the final color. Not even close to the front of the box, but pretty much spot onto the side of the box (you know that one -that says, if your current hair looks like this…this is the likely result). 

It didn't completely cover up my highlights from my previous dye, but it covered my roots - so I was happy. Even though, this is not the color I was initially going for, it is a color I dig. It has a red tone to it. I'm likely going to add the lighter carmel highlights, this weekend.

I'm kind of enjoying experimenting with my hair. Stay tune, next month I may have orange hair! haha!

I Have Bangs, Again...

I was starting to get bored with my hair, so I decided to get bangs, again. I kind of like them.

The lady who cut my hair, forgot a few long strands! I didn't get too far, before I noticed. I went back immediately and asked her to fix it. It was fine. after she corrected it.

New(ish) Hair Color

Sometimes I wonder what my kids would look like with darker hair. I couldn't resist.
Speaking of hair color, I wouldn't mind a new shade of brown for myself. Hair color is not at the top of my priority list, but wouldn't it be nice.

Dakota's Wild Hair

Dakota really has some wild hair, but before I you scroll down to see those pics, look at my niece Ellie. My sister Tasha was in town, last week. We spent a few evenings with her and her girls.

I love a pretty up-do and I found a hair twist comb that holds my heavy hair up. The styles in the photo look outdated and kind of "overdone,"but I promise it's all about the technique. I like it!

Another hair product, I'm loving is one that I bought for Cheyenne. The ballet school she attends requires her to wear her hair back in a bun. I bought her a light beige bun sponge. I started using it too. The only problem is, is that I have brown hair. I have to make sure to conceal the beige color sponge!

Cheyenne has had a few trims, here and there.

For the longest time, she wasn't interested, but somehow I convinced her. Erin has been in town and staying with us this week (it's ballet camp week ((YAY!!! )), so she cut Chey's hair.

We love it! She looks so sophisticated.

What I've Enjoyed the Most

Seeing Dakota so happy about the gift Cheyenne got her for Christmas and then getting to see Cheyenne's reaction. Chey wanted Dakota to love it and I was afraid she wouldn't, but she did. Dakota was dragging that Nutcracker all over the house, she even showed Trey and said LOOK!!!

Spending time with my favorite girls. Nothing says girl time, like manis and pedis.

Also, I can't remember the last time, I had a chance to spend this much time with my younger sister, Tasha. She's spent the night at least 3 times in the last two weeks.

No Big Rush
Last but not least, it's been wonderful --- not being in a rush to get out the door. I've had time to style my hair. Is that a selfie, I see? Why yes, it is. Trey got me a Conair Styling Comb for Christmas. Now, I can style my hair with a comb instead of my round brush.  I love it and this is me channeling my inner Lana Del Rey hairstyle.
It's been a good break. I go back to work on Thursday.

Update on my girl

Yesterday, I only worked half a day because Chey was feeling sick (again). I thought she was well on her way to feeling better, but Amanda kept updating me and finally sent me a picture of how terrible Chey looked and said her lips and fingers were partially blue. That kind of freaked me out!


We headed to the doctors office and her test for the flu and strep came back negative. However, the doctor took another test (to review the cultures or something like that). We won't get those results until tomorrow, but until then she wanted Chey to take antibiotics. Her doctor is almost certain (even though the initial results came back negative) that she has strep. The results we get back tomorrow, might show that.

We got bored in the waiting room, so we played with Dakota's hair.

And then we documented her cuteness.

Don't let this face fool you, she loved it.

Today, I'm at work and the Chey seems to be feeling better. This sickness she's had, has certainly felt like a roller coster of a ride. One minute she appears well and the next minute she's not.

Wig on Baby (Kind of)

Most babies are bald(ish). Dakota is about a year and a half and she doesn't have much hair. In case you are wondering what she would look like with more hair, here is a visual. I see hair, but mostly the cutest chubby baby face, ever.

Right now, her hair is more of a dirty blonde or light brown. Her hair and eyes are the same, they can't seem to settle on a definite color.

Even with her short hair, she is not exempt from a bad hair day.
I miss my girls, both of them are out of town for the week visiting family in Abilene. This is Dakota's first long stretch away from me. I think we are weaning, for realzzz this time. (super sad face, right here).

I cut my hair and you can kind of tell

I woke up Tuesday morning and thought -- Hmmm, I feel like trimming my bangs. So, I did. I will regret this in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1....No, right now, I'm ok. Ask me in about a month and I'm sure I'll be over them.

So, in the background of this picture you can see my office art. I like flowers. I also like to work in a dim environment, but when I'm at home, I open all the curtains. Trey hates that.

In other news, Dakota is so stinkin' cute!

She's the only one I know who can pull off a comb-over like that.

Awana Crazy Hair Night

I forgot it was crazy hair night at church, (for Cheyenne). By the time I realized, I was already in route...so, I improvised.

Speaking of hair, I'm in a -- "I'm growing my bangs out phase." Talk about the shortest lived hair trend that ever was...Haha! I like(d) them. I might cut them again, but for now -- I'm all about the side sweep/low maintence!

Celebrating at the Bowling Alley

Saturday night, we celebrated Trey's 30th birthday at the bowling alley. He's in a league and bowls with the guys once a week, but yesterday we bowled just for fun.

It looks like Dakota is attacking Cheyenne. LOL!

I suck at bowling. I need to use the kiddie ramp and bumpers like Cheyenne. I'm not even joking. I want to say my score typically ranges around 50 - 80.

There were a few times, she got a strike.

Cheyenne's hair is getting long, again. I've asked her if we should cut it short, but she doesn't want to.
