Amazing Patience & Growth Chart

I'm amazed at how much patience my 5 year old has with my 2 year old. They are suppose to be asleep, right now and I can hear Chey telling Dakota sweet words of comfort.
Don't open that door. Don't cry. I don't like it when you cry.
You will see mommy in the morning.
Take a deep breathe…in and out…just like that.

Dakota listened to her!! Within a few minutes she was sound asleep.
It's nice to have a caring sister around.

Because sometimes this happens…

The other day, Dakota threw a fit because she didn't want to nap. The result was her sleeping by the door. That was her idea.

In case you were wondering, we are still keeping up with the closet growth chart.

The Only Time It's Acceptable to Write on The Walls & Focus Update

Sometimes, we don't brush our hair.
Sometimes we wear easter clothes in December.
Sometimes we write on the walls.

It had been a while since we measured the girls. Like we expected, they are still growing. :)

Dakota has a lot of catching up to do.

Chey wanted to hold hands and Dakota wanted no part of it. PS Cheyenne dressed herself.

Ford Focus Update
Good NEWS!!!! I got my car out of the shop, yesterday. It was an electrical issue. Trey tried to tell me that the dealership caught my car on fire. He's such a prankster, I knew he was lying. The electrical problem should be fixed now. Instead of renting a car for the two days it was in the shop, I payed Amanda to pick me up and drop me off. I've appreciated the help so much, especially since the roads have been icy. Transportation is important and even though you give someone gas money, it's not exactly convenient for them. I'm still a little concerned about my Ford Focus and Trey is still motivated to sell or trade it for another vehicle. I told him, he could do all the negotiating and the girls and I could stay home. I'd rather not be a part of that process. It just leaves a bad taste in mouth. What do you think? Do you enjoy car shopping or would you prefer to have someone else do all of it for you? I'll pick the vehicle and then I'll say bye once they start talking numbers. haha! Who knows if we will get another vehicle. Honestly, I really like my car…but I'm concerned about it's reliability based on the last two episodes we've had with it. Trey said, "We should've never strayed away from Honda." I'm starting to feel the same way.

Dakota is 31 Weeks (7 Months) Old

- Dakota says Momma and Da-da.
- She hates food, but I'm working with her and offering her a small spoonful every (other) night.
- Her eyes are still a shade of gray. The definite color is still a mystery.
- No teeth, yet.
- She likes to put toys in her mouth.
- She's still sleeping through the night, except last night she had a rough one (I'll talk about that in a moment).
- As far as naps, she rarely takes them, when she's with me, but oddly enough - this does not effect her mood. Occasionally, she'll nap if we go for a car ride and she definetaly naps when we drive to and from Abilene.
- The time of the day when she's the happiest is during bed time. I'll put her in her crib and she likes to stare at her mobile.

The Growth Chart (in the closet)
In case you are wondering, we still write on the walls. We plan on charting Dakota's growth, just like we do with Cheyenne.
P.S. I know my hair looks crazy in this picture. :)

Sick Day
Early this morning, around 3 am, I heard Dakota fussing. She had a fever, so I decided to stay home with her.  By 9 am, she was back to normal/no fever, but she remained fussy on and off the rest of the day. Late this afternoon, I had to go to the pediatrician's office to get her second installment of the flu shot. While we were there, the doctor confirmed she has an ear infection. :(

Closet Growth Chart & Recovering

Cheyenne Coloring

Cheyenne is back in town with us. She's such a sweetheart, it's nice having her back. The house was too quite without her. Yesterday, she spent the afternoon at her table coloring and watching CareBears.

Here are the latest pictures of us measuring her height. Yes, we write on the walls.

She looks so big in this photo and all sophisticated with her dangly earrings. Before too long, she'll be asking to borrow the car.

Road to Recovery
I decided to sleep in this morning and not workout and my body is loving all the rest & recovery. After a race (a half or greater), I typically take at least one does of Tylenol. The last two days, I took some, but today, I don't think I'll need it.
Purse
In case you are wondering what's in the plastic baggie, it's pork rinds. My taste buds must be changing because up until recently, I hated them. I also hated dark chocolate and now, I crave the stuff.

Depending on how I feel tonight, I may workout on my home elliptical. I'll wait until after Cheyenne is in bed for the night. Oh, here is my DailyMile Log from last week. The reason you see 15 miles for Sunday is because I counted my Cowtown parking hike! Why, not? It was a nice little workout!

The Growth Chart

This is the only time it's okay, to write on the walls. The only time.

I know it's Wednesday, but I still feel like I'm recovering from the weekend. Perhaps, it was all that running. Hey, did anyone do Tax Free Weekend? I did. I secretly enjoy all the crowds, but it really wasn't' that bad. I went to Lululemon and EXPRESS and I spent way more money than I had planned, but it all came from my honey hole, so I'm okay with that.

Right now, Cheyenne is really starting to carry a conversation. She is also starting to use her imagination more. Yesterday, she kept telling me there was a bear in the hallway.
Growth Chart: August 2011
Oh, and she told me she was drinking COFFEE! Not fair, I'm not even drinking coffee these days (paleo challenge). That's so not cool, Cheyenne!
