Dakota is 18 Weeks Old

Untitled
Yesterday, we had Dakota's 4 month check-up. She weighs about 13 lbs. She got two shots and one oral medication.

I was surprised to hear the doctor say, we could start feeding her pureed vegetables and fruits. It seems really, early. I think I'm going to wait, several more weeks, before I introduce anything new to her diet. I may even stick with the traditional 6 months, before introducing food. We'll see...

Football Sucks, at Least the Company Was Good

The Dallas Cowboys are terrible this season. They kind of are every season, but I was hoping it would be different, this time around. Looks like some things don't change.

Sunday, we watched the game at the house with our sweet friends Breanna, Nate and their children. Their son was in Cheyenne's room, playing when we took this picture.

Here is my half marathon training from last week. It's going ok. I missed one 3 miler + cross training, but overall -- I'm sticking with the Hal Higdon training program.

Personality is Evident, Even in Photos

Personalities can evolve, but at the moment, at least from what I can tell -- Cheyenne has a free-spirit attitude and Dakota is more of a mellow---go in whatever direction the wind blows, kind of attitude. I swear, this child is the most laid back baby, ever.

In completely un-related news, Monday I didn't have time (Well, I didn't make time) to go grocery shopping, so I'm living off of the scrap in my freezer. If I don't go shopping soon, I might have to dive into the breast milk packs. Ha! I'm kidding! Besides, I wouldn't do that because Dakota would not be happy.

My New Baby

Allow me to introduce my new child, to you....Well, my camera baby.
Sony NEX-VG10 Camcorder
Blog Readers meet my baby, a Sony NEX-VG10 HD camcorder. Isn't she beautiful?????!!!! I should create a whole FaceBook album of her. Expect her to appear in our christmas family portraits. Yes, portraits, there will be multiple photos!
Sony NEX-VG10 Camcorder
This purchase has been a long time coming. For years, I've had freelance video requests and I'm tired of using my outdated equipment or borrowing gear. Not too long ago, I purchased a DSLR Canon Camera and it has been a huge help to fill-in the video requests, but it's not designed for long format video productions. Now, I can properly, shoot long format videos. So, with that being said -- hook a sister up with some freelance work.

My 10 Year High School Reunion

This past weekend, Trey and I attended my high school reunion. We both graduated from Abilene High. Trey was a year ahead of me, but we had the same group of friends.

This is us before, heading to the party at The Warehouse (downtown Abilene). We didn't take Cheyenne, but she couldn't resist a photo-op.

While I was curling my hair and listening to music, my friend Christi sent me this text. She's adorable.

She didn't need me, but we did spend the majority of the night dancing and chatting, together. This is Christi. I can't even recall, exactly how I met her -- it's like I've always known her. I think we initially met in choir.

Shout out to Upward Bound!
I share some amazing memories with this group. Summers spent at Abilene Christian University dorms and swimming at the YMCA.

Rosendo and Trishawna -- They are the crazy people -- every group needs them.

Another great group photo.
It seems like we all ended up staying in Abilene, moving to Dallas Ft. Worth, Austin, or Houston. I'm so glad I went and danced and laughed with my high school friends.

There was a great turn-out -- 250 people RSVP'd to the event. Let's do it again, class of 2002!

My Week in Photos: WSJ Wine Club, Cowboys Opener & More

I joined the Wall Street Journal Wine Club. 15 bottles of wine and a corkscrew wine opener for $99. If you are interested in the club, let me know before you order -- because they have a refer a friend program and I'll save money on my next purchase. Although, I'll probably be set for a year with this much wine, but still -- contact me before you order!

I got a mix of red and white wine bottles. I'll open a bottle next week. I still have a bottle of Riesling in the fridge. Trey is not a wine drinker, so it usually takes me a full week (or more) to consume one bottle. Towards 6 days, the wine tastes kind of flat....

Since I'm still nursing a baby, I only drink a few ounces (a tiny amount), typically after Dakota's last feeding of the night.
Got my Wall Street Journal Wine club case. If you want to join let me know, they have referral perks! It's going to take me 10 yrs to consume this.
Cheyenne has been in Abilene visiting grandparents. I'll meet up with her this afternoon, when I go to Abilene.

I'm so jealous, yesterday Jomi meet Erin at an Abilene park for a play-date. Brianna and Cheyenne picked up, right where they left off. Best Friends Forever!

This week, someone was feeling depressed about the Rangers and decided to make food (cooking therapy??) and bring it to work. Cookies and Mexican food for me because someone was depressed, sucks for them, but yay for me!
Free Food at work
Speaking of food -- I'm totally obsessed with Paleo Almond Brownies.

Dakota is 16 Weeks

Dakota is 16 Weeks
Dakota, is extra chatty these days. As I'm writing this she's talking....I'm in the living room and she's in her crib making noises. I think what she's really saying is, "Goodnight, mommy and daddy."

Did Someone Say Free?

This High School Reunion - FaceBook message made my morning.
Abilene High School 10 Year Reunion

I have to say the organizers of this class reunion have done an amazing job, I've heard of other classes having all kinds of problems, with catering and attendance. After I bought my $30 dollar ticket, a few weeks later, I got a $5 dollar refund because the class made a profit and instead of keeping it, they refunded it back. They didn't have to do that, BUT how nice! Now, free food??? It's almost too much, almost. Ha! This is going to be a wonderful reunion, now if only I could figure out what to wear....

here are a few pictures I submitted for the reunion slideshow

Trey and I have decided to go to the Abilene High Football game, so we'll be there for the AHS vs CHS football game. It's a hometown rivalry, so it'll be good.

I know how to pick'em

Why do I always pick the worst games to go to? I've gone to 3 Cowboys games and they've lost all 3! I think it's time to never leave my house again. I'm talking about the Cowboys Monday Night Football Game. The Chicago Bears slaughered them. While I'm thinking about it, I'd like to announce how much I dislike Chicago Bear fans. They are rude! They should take some notes, from us Texas folks about manners and good sportsmanship. :)

The only reason, I'm smiling in this photo is because it was a few hours before kick-off. I had no idea -- Romo was going to throw so many interceptions.

Well, at least these people made it fun. Scot and Leah.

Leah, use to watch Cheyenne for me, way back when....

I'm sure Trey has been listening to talk radio all day. I on the other hand, can do without ever hearing about that game, again. It was a train wreck, I'd like to forget about.
 Untitled
Thanks to Trey's mom for watching the girls for us, so we could go out. We appreciate it!

Here's to next week -- I can only hope!
