Being Iced in Has It's Perks

Like cleaning your house and rearranging furniture. My treadmill has been in the living room for at least a year….
Deep Cleaning
Well, today we rearranged the guest bedroom and put it back in there. I really like it in there. The girls can hang out with me and play. They can also watch TV, while I'm running. We even moved their little craft table in there. Is it strange, that I feel like the space seems bigger with the new layout???

We've played so much this weekend.  Oh, and Dakota is walking!!!!!!! I have a video to prove it. I'll post it soon!

This afternoon, was the first time, I left the house since Thursday afternoon. Trey was driving. while I was documenting. Oh, Tasha and Bella spent the last two nights at our house. She didn't have to work and we didn't have anywhere to go, so she just hung out with us for 2 solid nights. We had so much fun!

Trey and I went to the store to buy more food. Our fridge was starting to look bare. I was almost out of vegetables and I was completely out of fruit. Well, tomorrow I head back to work! It's been a wonderful weekend!

How We Do Ice Days

We got to sleep in this morning, hooray!
2013 Christmas Portraits
I managed to cross off one MASSIVE to-do, off my list, I ordered our Christmas cards. You'll be seeing these beauties faces in a week or two in your mailbox. I only ordered 25 cards because OMG money. YIkERS, cards are expensive. Once I get the hard copies mailed out, I'll make an online version….so keep coming back to the blog ((((( in anticipation :) )))

Even though it was freezing outside, Dakota loved it. She wanted to crawl around in it.
2013 Christmas Portraits
Today, was soooo relaxing!!!! It was a nice change of pace for all of us. Trey didn't get any emergency service calls, so he stayed at home with us too. I ran one mile, we made snowflakes, baked cookies, watched a movie and took a family portrait <---- self timers are the best invention.
2013 Christmas Portraits
We even got Dakota to take more than 5 steps. It was for smarties.

2013 Dallas Marathon Cancelled
This weekend is Dallas Marathon and I'm so glad I'm not registered. Today, they announced Sunday's Marathon is cancelled due to weather. It really is icy in Dallas!!!! No word on refunds (I doubt they will refund), also no word on credit towards next year or if race day will be reschedule in a week or two. Can you imagine training for so long and being so close to your marathon date and getting word that it's cancelled??? I would cry. No, really, I would. Obviously, it's not the race directors fault, they don't control the weather, I just know I would be extremely bummed about it…The cancellation is necessary, in order to keep everyone safe. I get it, but still. This is not a good race weekend.
I thought about running an ultra trail race that was scheduled for tomorrow. They also cancelled their race.
I know Dakota, it's sad! Tomorrow, I'll be running on the treadmill. Again….I know Dakota, it's super sad!

Streaking!!!

I decided to partipated in Runners World Winter Running Streak.

Here's the gist of it:
"Stay fit and motivated during the busy (and calorie-filled) holiday season by pledging to run at least one mile every day, Thanksgiving through New Year's."
My streak started last Friday and I've been streaking since! Look, I even recruited a family member, Susan!!! She posted this on my Facebook wall. It's motivating!!!  Does anyone else want to join? It's not too late.
Tomorrow, I have a running date with my treadmill, since there will be an ice storm. A few hours ago UTA posted that school would be closed tomorrow. Ice day at home for me!!!! Earlier, Trey went to the store to buy a few essentials, like cookies and chips. When he passed by the bread aisle this is what he saw... I guess this cold weather makes everyone crave sandwiches. Stay warm and safe DFW Friends!!!!!

Dakota is 77 Weeks Old & Chocolate is Always Motivating

77 Weeks old
If you are like me, you are probably wondering how many months is 77 weeks.
What did I do before google search? I remember my mom had an encyclopedia set and I used it a few times, when I was in elementary school. I also remember using a typewriter to type my 7th grade history paper. Back then, some of my classmates had computers. I had a typewriter.
77 weeks equals
I found Dakota's motivation to walk, it's cookies! Earlier this week she took 9 steps for a chocolate chip cookie. So, naturally, I've been bribing her since. Another thing I've started is making her hold my hand to walk everywhere. Most of the time, she gets frustrated and tired, but I'm not giving up on her.

Our Thanksgiving 2013

Our Thanksgiving Day looked like this…
The first part of the day, we spent it with the Anderson's. Cheyenne helped Nana set the table. Lunch was delicious!!!
Thanksgiving 2013
Dakota made sure to get lots of hugs from relatives we don't get to see everyday.

DJ spent the majority of the time sitting on the sofa. He fractured his leg at Cheyennes birthday party, poor guy.
Thanksgiving 2013
This is why this girl isn't walking, yet…evyerone caters to her. My aunt brought her over a bag of toys to play with.
  Thanksgiving 2013
Mom did most of the cooking.

This platter is not for the entire family, this is Frank's dish. Thanksgiving 2013
He was ready to dig in it. I think he was trying to eat himself into a food coma since Green Bay lost. The only game I cared about was the Dallas Cowboys game and they won.... so, yeah it was a great Thanksgiving!!

Decorating our Dallas Cowboys Christmas Tree

We have a Dallas Cowboys theme Christmas Tree.
Decorating the Christmas Tree
We also have some homemade ornaments. Decorating the Christmas Tree
Both girls were helpful. Chey would hook the ornaments, Dakota would hand them to me and then I would hang the high ones. We had a system going.

This evenings I worked with Dakota, trying to help her walk. She's still not eager to do it full fledge on her own.
Decorating the Christmas Tree
I have done zero Christmas shopping. Well, today is Cyber Monday, so I might get online and buy a few gifts. Trey and I have planned not to go crazy on gifts for each other and others. We really want to focus most of our attention on the kids….our kids, nieces and nephews.
