Mommy Daughter Summer Date

Saturday, Trey spent the entire day working.
I could've stayed home all day, but I  decided to take Cheyenne out on the town.
At Home
We packed our lunch and had a picnic at Trinity Park.
Picnic at Trinity Park
She had deli meat, cheese, cherry tomatoes and a banana. She hardly touched her food, she was too anxious to play.

MOM! Do I have to eat? I'd rather play!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone get out Saturday in the DF dub? It was so windy!

After our windy picnic, I had to go to the bathroom. Cheyenne was extremely annoyed with me. But eventually, we made our way to the playground. This playground is the perfect size for her. We'll have to make another trip out there.

After we had enough of that we went to the Stockyards.

The main reason we went to the Stockyards is so we could go to the Herd's Cow Camp.

The event lasted for maybe an hour. Cowboys tell stories and they have demonstrations relative to the cattle drive era.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to Trey! He is such a lovable and playful father to Cheyenne.

This morning, while Trey was still in bed, I managed to sneak out of the house and drove to the donut shop. I felt silly because I was wearing all my running clothes. It felt wrong! BUT I knew Trey would appreciate the sugary breakfast.

And hey, I'm ultra marathon training, so I indulged in a few doughnut holes. Ehh, why not?

See, I know how to spoil too...

After we came down from the sugar high, we drove to Mineral Wells and worked on Trey's truck.

And here is our little helper.

Hands on. When she got in the way, Trey was quick to give her a job to do and she took care of business and felt like she was involved in the process.

Trey was hoping the engine would be installed by now, but after several hours of working on it, the guys made some progress, but they still have a few more hours of work to do before it's fitted properly. Looks like he may be working on it next week.

We Are Silly

Last night, after dinner, Cheyenne started making crazy faces. She was looking at Trey, not me. Shocking! I know! Check out my silhouette in the top right corner, that's weird.

She doesn't even look like herself.

Really, who is this?

I was laughing at her and she made it look like so much fun, so I had to play too.

Trey has been working overtime (hello, summer) and some nights he doesn't get to see Cheyenne. The other night we were about to eat dinner and he told her, he had to go work and she said, "No, Daddy. You sit and eat dinner." That's why I love her. Some nights, when she's been asleep for several hours, Trey and I just talk about all the things we love about her. She's something special.
Silly Faces
This is maybe the second post I've published of me, since I got my hair cut and colored. The other photo, you couldn't really tell. What do you think? I LOVE IT! I can pull it back, wear it straight, wear it curly, which is my favorite way of wearing it. It's just so easy. It's probably one of my favorite styles I've had in a LONG time.

The talented Erin did my hair. There is nothing this woman can't do. She's kind of amazing. I trust this woman with my hair and my child, I'll say it again - she's amazing!

Holy Smokes, It's HOT!

If you thought about running outside in this ridiculous heat, take it from me, it's not worth it! Yesterday, Trey and Cheyenne made a "cookie run" to the store (there runs or much different than mine) and I took the opportunity to run the neighborhood. Even running with a water bottle in hand, it was unbearable. It was 7 pm and it was so HOT! Bad bad run. We've all been there. I should've just stuck to the treadmill or got up early, like I planned, but life happens so sometime you just have to roll with whatcha-ya-got.

So, What is everyone doing this weekend? Kicking back, I hope. This is a picture of Trey from last weekend. We put Cheyenne down for a nap and we sat on the sofa for a while, just enjoying some downtime.
Kick Back Sunday
Trey and I like to stay in, most Friday nights, curl-up and watch a movie. Tonight, we'll be watching Morning Glory. The rest of the weekend is kind of up in the air. We don't have much planned. Well, I have a lot of things I want to do, but nothing set in stone. I find it's best to have my plan A, with a list of things I want to do and then a plan B, which consist of leaving room for unexpected things. For instance, Trey may be working this weekend, if he does, Cheyenne and I will have girl time tomorrow.

Here are a few photos of her finding entertainment in an empty paper towel roll.
Cheyenne Playing in the Kitchen
When I took these photos, she had massive diarrhea. Haha, just what you wanted to know. Any who, I'm glad I held on to some of her pull-ups. I strapped her PU's on and that saved me from cleaning a load of mess.

I think she finally realized, she's playing with trash.

Palo Duro 50K Training Program

I'm 18 weeks out from Palo Duro 50K and I think it's time for me to get this party started. And yes, I have a training program!!! More on that later, but first...

Let me tell you about last week:
I was so eager to run, I racked up 36 miles and I even did a little bit of cross training. Normally, during a training season, that would be fine, but coming off of P90X, I maintained about a 20 mile weekly average --  So, 36 miles last week just about killed my body. I'm starting to feel the painful ramifications. I've got back pain and foot pain. This is not how I wanted to start week 1 of 18, but hey it's still early.

The good news is this, I only have 26 miles to run this week. Each week, my mileage will increase peaking at week 11, which will be 60 miles. I think I just had a panic attack, re-reading that sentence. If I think that's scary, I should calculate my total training mileage, oh wait -- I already did. It's 746 miles in 18 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!

What I didn't know about ultra marathon training:
It's common practice to double long run days. For example, every Saturday and Sunday I will be running LONG. This excites and scares me. My speed and ego will suffer, but I need to get use to being on my feet and running on tired legs. If this starts to take a negative toll on me, I will eliminate one of the long runs. I'm flexible like that, it's all that yoga I've been doing.

I trained for Cowtown 50K, like a marathon and that worked for me, last time around. The goal is train hard and have fun.

Roasted Honey Cinnamon Chickpeas

This recipe comes from Weelicious™ and it's quite simple.

Only 4 Ingredients:
1. Garbanzo Beans aka Chickpeas
2. Cinnamon
3. Oil
4. Honey
Roasted Honey Cinnamon Chickpeas
This was suppose to be a recipe Cheyenne and I were going to make together, but she wanted no part of it. So, I peeled every single chickpea. It seemed like it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r! Actually, that was the most time consuming part, the rest of it was easy-peasy.
Roasted Honey Cinnamon Chickpeas
Ahh, don't look...Naked Chickpeas! YOU LOOKED!
Roasted Honey Cinnamon Chickpeas
So is it good? IDK. It was okay. Actually, it tasted better the day after. I might make it again. I like how it's a healthy nutritious snack. You know, when you're not really hungry, you just want to be eating. Food to mouth. Food to mouth. And repeat. You know what I'm talking about. Cheyenne was not a fan. She didn't even want to try it, but I told her, "Mmm, CANDY!" Then she eagerly tried and it and immediately spit it out. "I noo want it."

Hot Idea

This weekend, Cheyenne had this great idea to go to the park. She was so excited, we couldn't tell her no. Even though it was late in the afternoon and most people were inside staying cool, we decicded to play outside.

She's getting bigger, she didn't even use the hand rails. Seriously, she's getting taller and thinning out.

I guess, she's not afraid of heights.

F-150 Engine

Trey did some work this weekend on the truck. Next weekend he would like to put the engine in. He's ready. I'm ready. We're ready.

I would caption these photos, but who am I kidding? I have no idea what I'm looking at. The general description, it's a truck engine. Good enough. Maybe one of these days, Trey will blog about it, since he's the one with the truck knowledge, in the meantime here are some shiny pictures.

Night Out on the Town in Funkytown

Last night, Trey and I had dinner and drinks with two of my old co-workers, Justin and Brittany. We worked in separate areas in the nursing department, so I rarely had a chance to visit with them. I makes me sad that we no longer work together --- Especially, NOW that we are good friends and keep in touch sometimes hourly, thanks to Twitter.

Dinner at Chuy's
Here is a photo of Brittany. I read her blog and for the most part, I get most celebrity and fashion news from her. This girl is one of a kind. Next time, I will have to take a group photo and include Justin and Trey! Sorry guys.
Dinner with Brittany
While we were out, we ran into a Bachelor Party. This Bachelor walked around with the ol' ball and chain. At first it was funny, but then as the night got older it too got old. He obviously wanted to make sure everyone in the place knew it was his last night out on the town.
Bachelor Party
Even so, it was quite the spectacle, so of course we took photos. Afterwards, we went to 7th Haven a rooftop bar. Justin, is the one who set the itinerary for last night and I have to give him a hand, he picked two cool Ft. Worth spots. I'll defiantly have to check out 7th Haven again.
Brittany taking a phone pic of the strange Bachelor
Thanks to SERENA! She watched Cheyenne for us, while we went out. She's expecting a baby in a few months and I'd be more than happy to watch her little one when baby arrives!!!
