I Tricked Trey

Somehow, I tricked Trey to go on a bike ride with me, during our vacation. How did that happen? I don't know. We stopped to eat Chick-Fil-A, during our bike adventure -- so maybe that was the bait.

What's with the face? You know you enjoyed it. Admit it! A 6 mile bike ride is a piece of cake.

I on the other hand, should have worn bike shorts. My butt was super sore.

Look at my sad lake. It's so low. It makes me want to cry. We need more rain.

The rock area, should be covered in water. A few months ago, it was covered in water.

I won't leave on a sad note, so I'll include some random pics, taken during our Target Trip.
Trey recommended I use this as an office lamp. Oh, so professional.
This cup was made for me.

Cowboys Decor & Taper Time

How 'bout them Cowboys?! What a great game, last night.

For the past few weeks, Trey and I have been participating in a bible study with a small group of friends, but this week it was just Dave, Heather, their kiddos and the Anderson's. After dinner and the study they stuck around and watched the game with us. It made for a long night and a rough morning, but it was worth it to see the Cowboys win. Now, a picture flashback....

Speaking of the Cowboys, I found a blue and white colored shower curtain to put in our Cowboys theme bathroom. Now, I just need to find a plush rug and some towels. What do you think? I like it. I had been eye-ballin' this curtain for a while, but didn't want to spend that much on it. Last week, I saw it on sale for 13 dollars. I'm glad I waited.
Now I need to find a plush rug
Guess who is tapering? ME! What does tapering look like? At the moment everything still looks the same, except my long runs will gradually decrease. This is the time when I should be getting more sleep and dialing in on my nutrition. Sleeping is what I struggle with the most. I need someone to make me go to bed at a reasonable time.

Here is my training from last week. Sunday, instead of running I took the bike out for a 6 mile fun ride. I should ride more often. HEY! Maybe after the ultra I'll find more time to do that.

This Almost Happened

Look, we having matching bikes, how cute is that?

Last night, I dusted off a bike and made up my mind: "Tomorrow I will ride." Which, I haven't done in ages.

I grabbed a bike and placed it near the entryway. READY TO GO! I set myself up for success, but my body had different plans. This morning, instead of riding, I slept in. DOH!

The calendar says rest day -- so I won't dwell on it. Maybe on  Monday, I'll ride. The Bike
I plan on using Trey's bike. He replaced the original tires (see pic below) on his bike with street tires.
The Bike
Street tires, yo!

Here is a photo from the archives, Summer 2007 Trey and I were gearing up to go for a ride on the Trinity Trails. This is when we first moved to DFW.

Growing Growing Growing

In case you don't know why we're in the closet, Cheyenne is pointing to the chart.

Saturday, Trey went on a 10 mile bike ride with Adam. I was very impressed.

Friday, when they went out, Trey discovered it was difficult to ride the mountain bike on the paved trail, so he bought a kit to convert his mountain bike to a street bike. The wheels look a little funny, but he says it's much better.

He biked from the house to the trail and then turned around and biked back home. He knows, when we're in town, if I'm not running the lake, I'm running the trail, so he asked me if I ever run that far. I said, "Yeah!" and he said, "You're crazy!"

This is right on the trail. Trey took it while he took a moment to catch his breath.

Trinity Trails

Trey and I found this great trail near our apartment. I've been wanting to go for sometime, but we always have something going on.

This Sunday, instead of grabbing the bible's in the morning to head to church we grabbed the bikes and headed for the trail.

The Date, The Weekend, & The Week Ahead

Let’s start with the date-
The record still stands. Trey didn’t cook for me, instead I cooked and we watched a special on the NFL network about the Cowboys QB, Tony Romo. Wow, that’s what I call a good time! Football on a Friday night what else can a girl ask for? It’s alright, luckily for my husband I’m not high maintenance. In all truth, I actually enjoyed myself.

Now moving on to the rest of the weekend-
Every Christmas work party I’ve attended has been boring. So, with that being said, I expected a dull night. So, the party was at Miller Ranch and began at noon and ended the next morning. To my suprise the party was so much fun! It was definitely one of the best parties I’ve ever attended. Trey and I spent the night and we managed to snatch a secluded room while some people had to sleep in an open area on bunks (suckers). It was nice meeting everyone that Trey works with. Now I can put a face with the name.

Finally the week to come-
Well, I’m actually still recovering from the weekend. Sunday my little sister and I went out to the ABC bike trail and rode 8 plus miles. My butt is sore and I know Natasha is probably in pain because she doesn’t usually ride. Anyways, I guess this subject line more or less relates to the weekend. Umm, the week ahead looks good. And I know I’m going to have to get gifts together, start baking, and figure out what we're doing on Christmas day.

It's been a few days

It's been a few days since I've posted. I haven't been too busy, just the usual. Last weekend Trey and I were suppose to go camping. I had the whole trip planned with reservations at the campsite and everything. The day before we were suppose to leave Trey came home and said he feel down while he was working and needed to ice his leg. We talked it over and decided we wouldn't go camping because the main activity we had planned was bike riding. We scratched that and at the last minute made plans to go to South Lake to visit our Uncle Jerry and Aunt Karen. We made it a day trip and went swimming in their swimming pool and lounged in the jacuzzi. It was so relaxing and much better than camping. After we swam for a while we cleaned up and went shopping.

Trey found the official Dallas cowboys store and drooled on everything. He was like a baby in a candy store. We walked out of the store with a T. Owens jersey. He doesn't even like T.O., or at least he didn't when he played for Philadelphia . Yes, I know it's that time of the year...Football season. It's coming, it's right around the corner. I might as well kiss Trey goodbye for a few months.
