My Week in Photos

Being silly at work. I was channeling Chey and Dakota on this one.

Cheyenne spent a lot of time with DJ this weekend. Here are a few pics my mother-in-law sent me, while she was with her, in Abilene.

Only kids can enjoy a laundry mat.

Oh, this one Amanda sent me…Dakota really loves Mack. Speaking of him, he's doing much better. For the first few weeks of his life, he was having a difficult time eating. He's doing much better. I love his expression in this photo. Dakota loves him!

Today, I picked up Cheyenne. I hadn't seen her since Monday. She was missed! We went to the Trinity Trail, near the botanical gardens - for a train ride.

Work and Wine

Camie & Blake's Wedding (Highlight Video) from Dominique Anderson on Vimeo.

Hey, business is doing great! Here is the finished product - or at least what I can share online with the world. This was such a beautiful wedding. The full feature highlight video ended up being over 20 minutes long. I'm meeting the bride today. I hope she likes red wine.

Weekends and Nights Have Been Consumed

During my spare time, I've been editing wedding footage. I have a few minor details to finish, but overall the bulk of the work is done. Last night, I completed the highlight video. I'll post the video later - once the bride signs off on it.

Awwww, I love weddings. I have 3 coming up in June. I don't do any advertising, so it's always fun to hear how brides hear about my business. I'm thankful for word of mouth from local photographers and other videographers. I'm extremely grateful that others recommend my work.

Other than editing, Trey and I are enjoying some one on one time with Dakota. Cheyenne is in Abilene visiting with family this week. Dakota is loving all the attention she's getting. Do you blame the girl?

Cheyenne's Ballet Recital

We are so proud of our little ballerina!

After the performance she was so excited to see everyone.

Mrs. Amanda was there. She did dance as a child too. Before the recital and during the intermission, she was telling me about her dance life. The studio she went to participated in a lot of competitions. The school we have Cheyenne in, is not really like that. There are some opportunities for competition, like YAGP.org and other dance comps, but from what I can tell, that's not the primary focus.

Here are a lot of pictures we took after the performance! Enjoy!

Her next ballet adventure will be Ballet Camp, in a few weeks.

She's enrolled for another semester of ballet. That should be interesting, since she will also be going to Kindergarten in the fall.

Wanted it. Got it.

Our Disney Store, finally has Frozen PJ's in stock!!! Too bad they only had them in Dakota's size.

Dakota insisted on wearing the PJ's, immediately!

She is obsessed with the movie. One day, she watched it three times!!! Today, at Chey's ballet recital one of the classes danced to Let it Go. Dakota started yelling, "THAT'S MY SONG!!!!!"
Speaking of the recital I'll share those photos soon.

Hello.

Just wanted to say, Although my blog entries have not been as often, I'm still here. I've been wrapped up in work...especially, editing. I really love this latest wedding, I've been working on, It's gonna be awesome!!! I can't wait to share it with you guys!

Also, redrock micro finally sent me one man crew!!! It was and still is -- on backorder. The last time I looked at B&H, it's not even available to order. This thing is a beast and although advertised as user friendly, it's a little intimidating. Intimidation and all, I look forward to using it. I feel like it's a piece of equipment that I will use for years to come.

Poolside with Dakota & The Big Girls

Today, we went to my sisters place and went swimming. I took the girls and thought Dakota would be thrilled to get in…no, not so much.

We spent our time poolside, watching the big girls swim. Dakota wanted to be near me. I was okay with that. The water was really chilly, so that may have had something to do with her not wanting to get in.

Instead of swimming, we got our tan on.

And watched the big kids play.

Chey swam with floats for the first hour and then after a while she decided to take them off, since she was playing in the 3 ft swimming area.

I'm looking forward to going out to the pool, more this summer. It wasn't busy at all…just a few kids.

Photo Blast

I know I've already posted this to every social media platform, but I was so excited the ballet used a photo of mine in their 2014-15 season book! The photo I took is featured at the bottom right. It is from the Ballet Gala. It's such a thrill to see my work published.

Speaking of Texas Ballet Therater. Yesterday, students and parents of the school were invited for a sneak peek performance of Swan Lake. My sister watched Dakota for me, so Chey and I could go. We saw two scenes from the ballet that will open at bass hall, May 30th. Chey and I loved it!!!!

Mother's Day Weekend

Happy Mother's Day!
It's been a busy weekend for me. Friday and Saturday, my camera got a workout. I took photos for several UTA graduation events. Sigma Theta Tau and three pinning ceremonies.

So, that was how I spent the majority of my weekend.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today, I put my work aside (for the majority of the day, I still did a little editing)…
Look what the girls and Trey got me for Mother's Day.
Roses, my favorite chocolate, a weight, a bracelet and a card.

Trey got a service call, so he didn't go to church or lunch with us. Erin and Mike were in town, so I went to lunch with them.
This evening, Trey said he was going to cook me dinner and then he called domino's pizza. That is so Trey….haha. I didn't have to cook, so that was nice.

I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! If you are a mom, I hope you were spoiled with gifts and love.

At times, being a mother is challenging, exhausting, and selfless - but I think any mother will agree, it's so worth it.

A Nice Treat. Nails & Laughter.

For Christmas, Mrs. Amanda and Mr. Drew got Cheyenne and I gift cards to a nail salon.
Wasn't that nice of them??? After work, I met Chey and Amanda at the salon, while Mr. Drew watched their kids, plus Dakota.

I've had my nails done, but I've never had a pedicure and Cheyenne had never had her toenails professionally done either, so we decided to go with the pedicures.

I'm sooo ticklish and so is Chey. I laughed so hard when the worker was scrubbing my feet. He probably thought I was a weirdo. Cheyenne laughed and kicked a little too. I made sure to tell the worker, don't scrub off my callices...I'm a runner. He used a sponge instead of an intense scrubber.

I'd Hire Them

These two girls are great assistants, I'd hire them!
A few weeks ago, when I took photos for Trey's business, Chey and Angelica took some behind the scenes photos and they were also models - actually, they helped me set my lights/camera settings, before Trey and Chris were ready.

There's actually one wedding I'm working this summer, it's ceremony only and I was thinking about asking my niece, Angelica if she wanted to help me. She's shown interest in what I do, so it could be a really neat learning experience for her. I haven't decided, yet. She might be out of town visiting family that weekend.

My Best Work to Date

Saturday, I recorded a wedding in Joshua. The photographer wasn't able to make it to the second location, so the bride and groom asked me to take some stills as well as video. I only took a few, since my main focus and hired purpose was to be there to record the wedding. Here are a few pictures that I took at the second location, Eagle Mountain Lake in Ft. Worth.

I didn't know the bride prior to her hiring me, she found me via my vimeo.com page. We wrote and texted often, months leading up to the wedding. She knew what she wanted and sent me tidbits of wedding details along the way. It was lovely working with her.

I can't wait to edit this video. Based on the footage I've reviewed so far, I think this is going to be my best work, to date. Pretty exciting!!!!

Movie Date with Chey

Yesterday, I recorded a wedding. I was gone all day and away from the girls. Today, after church, Trey stayed at home with Dakota and Chey and I went to the movies. We watched Rio 2. We both enjoyed the movie. Afterwards, we went jewelry window shopping at Neimen Marcus.

My 30th Birthday

Yesterday, I celebrated my 30th birthday. My co-workers took me to Mellow Mushroom for lunch. Yum! They also gave me a gift card to a resturant, which I'm really looking forward to using!
It was so nice reading over all the birthday wishes from friends and family. Thank you!!!
The girls decorated me a cake. I'll post that picture, later.

Today, I have something else to celebrate…It's my 7 year work anniversary.
I'm thankful to be where I am and surrounded by the people I work with.
