First Dip, Pool Showroom & Solid Run Week

Swimming

Dakota went swimming in a pool for the first time, this weekend. We spent Saturday afternoon in Coppell with family and went swimming in their pool. It was a jam pack weekend. We visited all weekend with family. Trey's family was also in town, I'll post pictures of that soon.

You know how I'm always saying Trey is persuasive? Well, he's convinced me we need a pool. I'm not saying it's a sealed deal, but we did go to a "pool showroom" and our conversations have gone from, "if we ever get a pool" to "next summer when we're swimming in our pool."

Well, if we ever get a pool, I know one girl who will be very happy. Cheyenne took swim lessons. She went from being slightly terrified of being in a pool to being pretty comfortable. Here's a picture that Mrs. Amanda took of her and Luke together before class. Amanda is the one who took Chey to her lessons, while I worked....I did get a chance to go to one of her lessons. She was so excited to show me what she learned.

Despite being sick some of Monday and all day Tuesday, I had a solid run week. High-Five to me! Boom!

When I Vacuum

Dakota thinks it is best to turn in circles on the hardwood floor. She mops, while I vacuum. I can't wait until she starts walking...then I'll really put her to work.

Crummel Wedding Photographs

I did not sleep well last night. I have a sinus infection and Chey woke up around 3 am crying saying she needed Claritin, (she is also fighting allergies). This morning, I made the call and decided to stay at home. Sick Day it is. I've been siting on the sofa all day. Moving around hurts my head.

I was not hired to take photographs, but I figured I'd take a few to add to the DVD menu.

This wedding was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S. The decor and food -- soooo decadent.

Wedding Dance Off

The wedding I recorded this weekend was so much fun! I met the bride around 10:30 am and recorded her and the bridal party as they had their hair and make-up done. The ceremony started at 6 pm and I was home at 11 pm. It sounds like a long day, but it went by so fast.
So all that happened on Saturday and ---
Today, I'm sick. I have a bad case of allergies and a massive sinus headache.
Throughout the day, I've been watching this video to cheer me up. It's the wedding dance off. I'd love to see this video go viral!

Jerry & Raquel's Wedding Preview

This wedding is done! I'll be mailing the bride and groom their DVD, next week. This is probably the fastest wedding turn-around I've ever done. I have motivation....I will be recording a wedding tomorrow, so I wanted to wrap this one fast!

Demanding Kisses & Behind the Scenes Look at Recording a Wedding

I'm Dakota's favorite person. I love it during the day, but last night --- not so much. She woke up at 12:30 am wanting to nurse and then again at 3:30 am and then again at 5 am. We are slowly weaning and I think she's catching on to that and she's in a denial state...thus explaining the cluster feedings this morning.

Here is a short clip of Trey begging for Dakota's affection. She's thinks it's hilarious.

Also, check out this behind the scenes look at Raquel's wedding. This was right before the ceremony started.

A Compact Vehicle Brought Us Closer Together & A Weekend Wedding

This past weekend, we spent over 12 hours in the focus. We drove to Port Lavaca to visit my family.
It was a long drive....I'm so glad we took the focus and not the truck. We averaged 38 mpg on the highway.
Ft Worth to Port Lavaca
For about an hour I rode in the backseat with the girls. I was sitting directly behind Trey and had zero leg room. It makes me laugh thinking about it, but when I was pregnant with Dakota, Trey insisted we consider buying a fiat. We test drove one and everything. Although they are super cute cars, they are not practical for our family.

I finally got around to customizing the Sync Wallpaper, so I had pretty girls to look at during the trip - wether I was looking towards the front or back of the car, I could see my girls.

My cousin, Raquel got married this weekend and I recorded the ceremony. There was a dance at the reception and Cheyenne kept dragging Trey out on the dance floor. She freaked out when the played Taylor Swift's 22 song! That's her jam. When Trey and I were younger, he would tell me no to dancing, but he can't resist a 4 year old! How sweet is that??!! And he couldn't just dance with one girl. Hi, Dakota. We see you too.

On our way out of town, we visited my grandmother. She gave Dakota her baby blanket. She makes all the grand babies in our family blankets. Dakota freaked when she saw her name weaved-in! It was jaw dropping, impressive.

Other than the exhausting drive, we managed to relax and I slept in both mornings.
Yesterday, as soon as I woke up, I got Trey donuts for father's day. He was still in bed sleeping, so I served him donuts in bed.

Trey Has a Hobby

He bought himself a gun (another one) and I said, "Happy Father's Day!"
This is why we don't take vacations...

Actually, this is why we don't take vacations...
I'm invested in investing in my small business. I purchased a microphone and it wasn't cheap. Why is this line of work so expensive??? One day I will pay myself more than $30 bucks (I promise, myself that). Until then, I'll be on the apple website debating whether or not it's time for a laptop or Mac Pro.
New mic got here in time for a weekend weeding #smallbiz

The Honeymoon Phase

I'm in the beginning of my training schedule aka the honeymoon phase. I want to run and so far things  are going smoothly. However, I'm looking at my calendar and I'm thinking this weekend I'll be lucky if I get to run at all...

Here is my training from last week! Like I said, Honeymoon phase.
Week 2 of 16 of Training for Rough Creek
So, I got new running shoes. I asked Cheyenne to help me decide between the two and she said, 'the pink ones!" There it is, my $50 dollar running shoes. I've been known to spend upwards of $100 on a pair, but I'm trying to be more frugal. My last pair of shoes cost me about $45 and they seem to be comparable to $80 dollar shoes I've ran in. One thing, I have noticed about my $45 dollar shoes is that they seem to be wearing down, 80 miles shy compared to my expensive shoes. Either that or I haven't been keeping good track of my mileage in them (that's probably it). It's hard to keep track of shoe mileage, when I have two kids. I'm lucky I'm keeping track of my training!

By the way the shoes below are Nike Alvord Trail Running shoes. I've ran 4 miles in them and they seem like any other shoe I've ran in. No complaints, here.

A Message to Dakota

Happy Birthday, Dakota! Dakota Bear
Thank you for always being sweet.
You give me lots of smiles.
You reach out to me when you want me and even though you can't talk, I know you love me too.
These days have flown by since you entered this world and I have to remind myself to hold onto these moments. The moments when I turn you and you lean back and laugh so hard....
You are a my precious baby. I love you sweet girl.

P.S. I'm sure you are also excited about turning One, this means Daddy will start giving you (more) sweets. Just wait until you become a regular attendee of Saturday-Donut Day. Cheyenne can tell you all about it.

Almost One Birthday Party

Dakota was trying to tell us, "I'm turning ONE!"
I can't believe I'm the mother of an (almost) one year old and a 4 year old. How did that happen?
Dakota's Birthday Party in Abilene
This weekend, we celebrated Dakota's first Birthday. We met Kynli, she's a doll!

My Week in Photos

Her Father had something to do with this outfit. Her Kind of Fashion
The girls and I went for a walk, earlier this week. To be honest, it was quite miserable. It was 98 degrees. Yuck! If it's above 90, just stay inside. Ha! Really.
  Summer Walk A Hot One!
It kind of made me wish we had a pool. Well, I'm thankful for neighbors who let us swim in theirs.
First Dip of the Season
Lately, Dakota has been obsessed with the remote control. If it's in sight, she has to have it. It makes it very challenging when I want to surf channels.
Go to Sleep Dakota! LOL!
Do you want to know what I've enjoyed this week? Getting to take my lunch break twice this week, with my girls. Dakota was over there eating a cheese stick. She's getting really good at feeding herself. Actually, she prefers to feed herself and it gets really messy. It almost makes me wish we had a dog. You know to clean the floor....but the hair and responsibility-- one day we'll get a family dog, but not now.

I got some good news in the mail this week...Here is the story highlighted on UTA News Center.
