What Day is It?

Not going to work this week, has really thrown me off. I'm literally losing track of the days. The other morning, I gathered the trash up, thinking it was trash day. NOPE. It wasn't.

This morning, Chey and I had a play and lunch date with some friends. Afterwards, we ran some errands and I stocked up on some Central Market goodies: whole grain pasta, multi-grain tortillas, frozen veggies, and applesauce. I wish my normal grocery store carried these brand specific items, but they don't.

Has everyone finalized their NYE plans. Amy, my older sister, is coming into town, so we'll be hanging out with her and her family. Everyone have fun and be safe. Let's ring in the new year!

Look at my daughter's crazy hair! But don't look at Tuesday's blog post....just because I can fix her hair all pretty, doesn't mean I do it all the time. No matter what, she plays hard and her hair goes everywhere.

Yoga Warm-Up & Boxed Up Christmas

Cheyenne doing a little warm-up before her yoga workout
I spent my afternoon, putting away Christmas. The only thing that remains is the garland on the mantle. And the only reason it's still up is because I didn't want to mess with the TV and unplug it from the wall. TREY!!!    Now, that Christmas is boxed up my house looks bare, but on second thought it is refreshing to have my furniture back in it's normal place.

This evening, Cheyenne and I went on a group run with the Lulu ladies. We still don't have much planned on this holiday break and I'm okay with that. I feel like this is a real vacation for me. So NICE! Being at home makes me feel like I go thru so much laundry and I eat at home for every meal, so there is so much clean-up. Oh, well. I love cooking in my kitchen. Earlier this week, I made fish tacos with avocado pico de gallo. I loved it. Chey is not a fan of fish. Well, I don't know that many kids who like fish, other than fish sticks and I don't plan on buying that.

Hair and Yoga. Girl Time with My Girl.

Today, Mrs. Erin would have been proud of me. I fixed Cheyenne's hair and it wasn't a pulled back ponytail. I took my time and had fun with it. What do you think?

She was so good today. I'm really enjoying all this time I'm spending with her. This evening, I pulled out my yoga mat and she started copying all the poses I was doing, so I got her a mat and she did a 20 minute workout. She's good. Downward dog and plank seem to be her favorite poses. She's a yoga champ!

The BookWorm Always Finds the Good Books

This afternoon, Cheyenne and I ventured to our local library. We naturally gravitated to our own interests. Her -- Dora and me -- running. We had only been there maybe 5 minutes and she found a Dora book. I walked out with a running book called Born to Run. I'm only a few chapters in, but so far it has me fired up about running...Hmm, like I need any more fuel for that fire.
Bookworm
Well, I have the week off and I really don't know what to do with all this free time. Typically, at the end/beginning of each year I take the time to deep clean and organize the house. Today, I started with the pantry. Tomorrow, I think I'm going to tackle the living areas...entry way, hallway, living room. Or maybe I should just focus on the kitchen. I'll figure it out.

Christmas Morning 2010

Christmas Morning BreakfastI hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Our Christmas morning started early. I was so excited, I woke up at 6:30 am. I made coffee and I had to resist the urge to wake Cheyenne up. She walked into the living room around 7 am and I made us breakfast.

I made a biscuit, sausage, cheese, egg, mushroom breakfast casserole -- We had a lot of leftovers.

While the casserole was in the oven we let Cheyenne open all her gifts. I put the camcorder on the tripod and let the video roll. I think it will be cool watching the video when Cheyenne gets older.

She enjoyed opening presents. Yesterday evening, she said, "I wanna open all my presents." We had to explain to her she had already opened ALL of her Christmas gifts.

Cheyenne and I got Daddy a Craftsman multi-tool. He really wanted that. In his stocking, he got a lot of candy too. Somebody was good this year. And in case you are wondering what I got, I got diamond earrings a few months ago. I thought about wrapping the box they came in and placing it under the tree, just so I would have something to open on Christmas morning....Yeah, I should've done that.

Christmas Eve 2010

This morning we met Trey's parents for lunch and picked up Cheyenne. We missed her! As soon as Cheyenne got home, she hopped on her Dora bike. It's a Christmas present that Frank and my mom got her. She loves it!

She also reunited with her baby. I felt like a terrible mother, I forgot to send her off to Abilene with BABY! (GASP) Side note: Notice the big girl bed in the background. Impressive.

And finally, we went to Candelight Christmas Eve church service. We didn't even bother changing Cheyenne out of her PJ's. Oh, she looked so stinking adorable. At church, we sang Christmas carols and read about the birth of Jesus Christ. At the end of the service we sang Holy Night to candlelight...it was very moving.
Christmas Lights
As soon as we were done at church, we hopped in the car and drove around looking at Christmas lights. Chey was in the backseat singing Jingle Bells. She kept telling me SHHHHHH everytime I would join in to sing. HAHA! I guess she doesn't like the way I sing. Within 30 minutes she fell asleep, so I could sing again. Now we're all in bed waiting for Santa to arrive.

Merry Christmas.

Making Her Rounds

Cheyenne has been in Abilene, since Monday. She's been busy making her rounds, visiting family. We pick her up tomorrow. Since Trey is on call, we plan on spending Christmas at home.

Here is a photo Tasha sent me:
Tasha told me, when Cheyenne was sitting in the bumbo she kept saying, "I'm stuck. I'm stuck."

My First Speed Work Session

This evening, I met with the Lulu group and for the first time I did speed work. I've read all about it and it's something that has always interest me, but tonight at last....I tried it.

What do I think? It kind of feels like torture, even more so than running. Speed work is basically sprinting ---- all out, sick to your stomach, sprinting. I survived it and I feel okay, so I think I'll do it again.

Lakeside Run

This weekend I crawled out of bed and ran to the lake and back. It was only 41 degrees. Is this really December?

It's hard running post marathon. My legs felt heavy, but I kept moving. Lately, I've been dealing with runners knee and it bothered me 2 miles into this run. Today, I ran pain free and felt great. I ran an 8:46 pace. Whoa, that's speedy for me.

My Momma Was in Town!

Saturday, my Mom, Frank, Tasha and Bella were in town for a short visit. They treated us to Applebees. I rarely never eat there, but I was extremely impressed with their 550 calorie menu. I told Trey we need to eat there more often. He can get ribs or a burger and I can get something healthy. Win!

After we were done eating, I thought it would be cute to have Bella sit in front of Cheyenne, so they could play. As you can see, from this video, it looks like they are having fun and then Bella goes CRAZY and at one point it looks like she is trying to bite Cheyenne's arm. Bella is going to be a little fighter :P

Baby Shower at J & J Oyster Bar

Yesterday evening, Cheyenne and I attended Sarah's baby shower. She lives in Louisiana, but was in town because her husband, Clint, is graduating from TCU. The graduation was today. Trey and I first met Clint and Sarah at church a few years ago. We are both excited about baby PEPPER!

Cheyenne admiring the Christmas tree and presents at the restaurant. Usually, when I go out for seafood, I eat salmon and veggies, but this time I tried the fish tacos and WOW they were fantastic!

And That's How You Steal A Christmas Gift

Earlier this week, the ladies ministry at my church had a Christmas Ornament Gift Exchange Party.

This is the ornament I took to the party. It looked so nice with my tree decor, I was tempted to keep it for myself. GLITTER!
Christmas Gift Exchange
Now, I would show the ornament(s) that I got, but I plan on re-gifting them for Christmas and the person I'm giving them to reads this blog...................so a photo of me stealing the present from Krista will have to do!
Christmas Gift Exchange Party
The lovely Krista is my coffee and tea drinking buddy. Doesn't she look so cute with her baby bump?! Well, that didn't stop me from taking her gift. Oh, and I even have a smile on my face. Lovely. :) Merry Christmas.
