My Sick Little Chatterbox

This morning Cheyenne is running a fever. It started at 1 am. She woke up crying and I put her in bed with us and feed her and she was still a bit fussy, but within a few minutes she fell asleep. I should've given her some fever reducer then, but my brain doesn't work that well in the middle of the night.

Early this morning, sometime before 6 am, I gave her some medicine and now her fever is slowly dropping back to normal.

So Much for Professional Development

I few weeks ago, I signed up to to hear Joel Sternfeld (a photographer) speak at The Amon Carter Museum. Well, this event was tonight. I was hoping, Trey would be available to watch Cheyenne, but unfortunately he had to work late. I really wanted to go, so I decided to take Cheyenne with me. Big mistake. We only lasted 10 minutes. She wanted to chat my ear off, which is fine any other time, but not when someone is presenting their professional work to a full audience. Live an learn.

I was disappointed we had to leave early, but I can't blame her...she just wanted to talk.

A Little Vintage

I'm not a big fan of self-portraits, but here you go...
This is the hat I made. It kind of has that vintage, thrift-store look.
My nifty hat!
Looks a liitle too much like a mySpace profile picture. No, wait... I'm wearing clothes, so maybe not. LOL!
My first custom hat
I got most of it done, while Trey was driving to and from Abilene. Ahhhh, it's good to be the passenger. Cheyenne would agree, she watched Baby Einstein during the trip.

On to the next thing....I just wanted to make myself something, since I've been busy making stuff for everyone else.

Since we stayed out late, partying at the reception, we took the pack and play--so Cheyenne could sleep. She managed to sleep during some of the party. Brodee's pack and play is right behind her. They were having a slumber party!

Batch of Veggies--Coming Up

While Cheyenne is napping, I'm taking advantage of the time, by making my granola bars for the week and making baby food for Cheyenne. I'll freeze a good portion of this for her, but I'm probably going to set some aside for lunch and eat it with some meat.

It's Now or Never

My phone GPS lost signal (mid-run), so I can't share all the normal details, but I can tell you I ran 8 miles. It was windy and I was tired from a busy weekend, so I doubt I ran a 10 minute pace. It was probably more like 11-12 minute pace.
8 Mile Run
I wasn't sure if I'd get my long run in this weekend, but I did. This weekend was busy with us going out of town for the wedding. Friday night, we stayed out late--- Saturday morning, I was busy getting ready for the wedding and then Sunday morning, there was no way I was getting out of bed before eight am. No way! We all partied hard, even Cheyenne.

This afternoon, we came home and I figured, it's now or never. I missed the first half of the Cowboys game, but it's a small price to pay. Trey and Cheyenne went over to Adam's house while I hit the trail. Afterwards, I cleaned up and meet up with them.

So, the run was hard and I hope I can face that 10 mile run, coming up this Saturday. I think the main reason why it was so hard is because I missed a scheduled run, last week. That's why I hate missing scheduled runs.

Brandon & Maghen's Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

Today Brandon and Maghen will say I DO! Last night, the wedding party went to the Beehive Restaurant in downtown Abilene.

Scarf Weather

Trey's scarf is done! It didn't turn out exactly how I imagined, but it's okay. There are a few lines that are zig-zagged, but hey what can I say? Before Trey saw the finished product he asked me what I thought and I said, "I don't know." But he seems to really like it and it's growing on me.
Trey's Dallas Cowboys Scarf
He decided on Cowboys colors, big surprise, I know. The navy blue also matches his work pants, which is good because he'll be wearing it primarily when he's working. I didn't add any tassels because I thought tassels would be too feminine. Here is a close-up.
Close Up of Trey's Scarf
I think I'm going to iron it--to take the curl out.

Well, now that I'm officially done with that project, I'm moving on. My hat is coming along alright. I'm about half way done. It's hard to find time to crochet, but I try to squeeze as much time in as I can. I'm already thinking of Christmas gifts.....So, watch out! I really need to get started now.

In other news....
The other night, Cheyenne had a low-grade fever and she wanted to cuddle.
I like this picture of Chey, but it looks like I'm neck-less. HAHAHA

Recover & Refuel

This evening is my off day. Not off of work. What I mean is--- no running today. I'm enjoying it too. I need these days to recover and refuel. Yesterday, I ran hard. 4 miles at 37:30. So, this evening I'm enjoying vegging on the sofa.

In other news, I finished Trey's scarf. Pictures will be up soon. Now, moving on to my next project. I will attempt to make a hat. Not sure how it will turn out, but so far it's coming along nicely.

I'll leave you with a picture of Cheyenne. Everyone enjoy the evening and if you're in the DFW area enjoy the rain.

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear

Trey has been out of town working, but he's finally back. I missed his help, especially during dinner time. Tonight, while he was still out of town, I made a deli style sandwitch. It was fast and didn't require cooking.

Here are some pictures of Cheyenne enjoying more Baby Einstein. These videos really grab her attention.

Cheyenne at 11 Months

For a while, I've been debating going to a pumpkin patch. The main reason is because I can't find any local pumpkin patches. I didn't feel like driving over thirty miles to buy an over-priced pumpkin, possibly pay admission to walk around, and take a few photos.

I asked Heather, one of our neighbors, if I could prop Cheyenne in front of her outdoor fall decorations and take pictures. Heather didn't mind and she even helped me get Cheyenne's attention.

And you know, it really looks like she's at a pumpkin patch! This picture is my favorite because you can see her two bottom teeth.

Long Run

Distance: 8.26 miles
Time: 1 hr 24 mins.
Average Pace per Mile: 10:15
Temp: 52 degrees

I ran 8 miles yesterday. I met Liz and she joined me for four of the eight. Soon, I will tackle 10 miles and it doesn't seem that scary. Our pastor, just ran a half marathon and his average pace per miles was right under nine minutes! Wow! I haven't said this out load, but I want to run at least a 10 minute mile pace (race day). Well, that's my goal. I have a ways to go, but I have plenty of time and more training ahead of me.

Outdoor Festival

Today Cheyenne and I got out and went to an outdoor festival. We meet up with some friends, including Liz and Steve. While I was out there, I got my funnel cake and corn dog fix. Mmmm. There was lots of entertainment too.
